It's fall and I got a large handful of arugula in my CSA box. It's pumpkin tofu scramble time!
Just as delicious as last year.

I advocated for myself, quoted the law, and my former landlord decided not to take money out of my security deposit!
I wasn't excited about the one law class I had to take for my degree, but if it's done anything for me it's made me more comfortable looking up laws and citing them to people when I'm in the right.

We took the kid for his 18-months checkup with the district nurse. I've been a little worried (not much) that he's too skinny, but it turns out there's nothing to worry about. He's grown 10cm in the last six months and only gained a little less than a kilo, but apparently that's fine. And he got his first measles/mumps/rubella shot, yay!
I saw the Punch Brothers! And it was like rolling swoon-attacks mixed with pure auditory bliss. I felt like I needed a cigarette after. Plus the night before I got up the courage to go to another, smaller show at an unfamiliar bar venue all by myself. Flipping the finger to crippling social anxiety! I can do anything!

I watched PM Julia Gillard blast pure awesome righteousness at the Leader of the Opposition.
Give it thirty seconds (and get some popcorn). I don't agree her on a lot of things, but she takes hot poker of justice and rams it up that hypocrite's bumhole.
the woman who owns the little korean grocery store today stopped me to ask about my sweatshirt today and then told me about some plays that the "korean society of portland" used to put on where there was a beggar character who she remembered having hundreds of patches and then recently she saw some pictures and there were only a few and how she sometimes worries about her memories not being indicative of reality.
I don't like a lot of things about myself, but whatever it is that makes me easily approachable and makes strangers feel comfortable telling me personal things about themselves and their thoughts, that I like. I hope that never changes.

I bought five new shades of nail polish and some topcoat. I have wonderful sparkly pale pink fingernails and bright blue tinselly toenails. I also have sparkly pink eye makeup and false eyelashes on (hurrah for latex free eyelash glue!).

we're making cheezy garlic rolls for dinner. kinda like cinnamon rolls, but savory and with cheeze (fyh mozzarella), minced garlic, earth balance and italian spices.
