Jeez, that was the goriest episode yet. They really know how to bring the horror with this show. When they pulled the riot mask off that one zombie and the skin came with it??? YEESH.

I liked this episode -- none of the characters annoyed me, not even Carl or Lori (but I could have done without the hat, thankyouverymuch). I liked the fast-forward to seven months later. I almost didn't recognize Hershel; I thought his makeup was really well-done. Also, a katana is almost as good as a crossbow. But a crossbow gives you the advantage of distance.

It feels like they're trying to make Lori a more sympathetic character. She was a far cry from the woman that was all pissy that Rick killed Shane. Even though she had asked him to!

I'm sort of confused about the desperate need to cut off Hershel's leg. Does the zombie-infection spread slowly, and they thought they'd beat it by cutting the leg off? I don't buy it!
