I don't really see the problem with calling non-vegans 'omnivores'. A lot of them ARE nice, and agreeable, and happy. And they eat things that I don't eat. It's just a dietary label.

It's just a dietary label. Well, yeah, and humans are in fact biological omnivores. When I call non-vegans 'omnivores' it's a pretty neutral label in my mind. I don't really like 'meat-eater' because that's clearly not all they eat. I don't use 'omni' with non-PPKers, though, because I don't expect people to know what I'm talking about.

*edit* didn't even mean to post in this thread.... meant to post in the space to post anything thread. But since it was oil related....
I accidently drowned my pancakes in oil. I meant to add like a half teaspoon to the pan because it was getting dry in there but thanks to my slow reaction time I ended up with probably a quarter of a cup of oil. I still ate them even though they were from a low fat recipe. I'm sure it would probably horrify the anti-oil brigade.

At work for "staff appreciation" they took all of us therapists out to a restaurant that doesn't serve anything I can eat. All I had was a glass of orange juice. To top it off, they passed out $10 gift cards to everyone; the gift cards were for Red Lobster.

I am ok with the lable omnivore in regards to this forum, we all understand what it means and it is a polite way to distinguish between us and them. But I would never refer to anyone as an omnivore outside of this forum, to be fair though I dont refer to myself as a vegan outside of this forum either because it generally gets a negative response from people (or it might just be because I am a very private, slightly hermitish person).
As for oil, I would love to be able to not use/consume any but its so damn good, it makes EVERYTHING taste better...

How about just calling everyone else non-vegan? That's what I'm gonna start doing.

vegan hospital food is even worse than omnivore hospital food. i suppose it's 'healthy', as in, it could sustain a human being, but... urgh.

I followed what I thought was a vegan blogger (her blog looks completely vegan?) on Pinterest, and she keeps posting Thanksgiving turkey recipes. What the H. biorobotics wrote: vegan hospital food is even worse than omnivore hospital food. i suppose it's 'healthy', as in, it could sustain a human being, but... urgh. ugh, yes. I was hospitalized for like 4 days and weighed 7 pounds less than when I got there because the food was just so bad I didn't want to eat, and half of what they brought me was non-vegan anyway. I don't know how "I don't eat anything that comes from an animal, including meat, poultry, fish, broth, eggs, or dairy" translates to "She'll eat this turkey burger covered in cheese." I've lapsed back to dairy a couple times in my journey with veganism, and that hospital stay caused one of them.

Oh yeah, when I had poopiebaby I spent three days in the hospital eating nothing but pb&j for breakfast, lunch and dinner, because it was the ONLY vegan thing they offered me (I didn't even ask about the bread - I wasn't about to eat nothing if it wasn't vegan). By dinner on the second day they were like "don't you want something else?" and I was like YEAH THAT WOULD BE NICE but all they had was meat, cheese, and more meat. Ugh.

Vegan pet peeve - people who post stuff about their pets that makes your head explode.
Someone on FB just posted that PSE&G found a gas leak in their house and so they are at their inlaws, but she can't sleep because she is worried about their pets. Whom they left in the house filled with gas.
I just don't know what to say. I don't want to be judgey or make someone feel bad. But holy shiitake, how do you leave your pets in a dangerous situation and just go somewhere else?
I liked my friends better when I only had vegan friends. I need more vegan mama friends IRL.

If you can't have certain household cleaners because they are too potent for pets, then why are you going to leave your pets in a environment that is too toxic for a human, which is way bigger than any animals they should have. I really don't get people.....
