last week, after feeling like shiitake for far too long, i went to my university's walk-in clinic, and got diagnosed with bronchitis, and given antibiotics, and told if i don't feel better by monday, go to the hospital.
monday rolls around, i don't feel any better, so i go to emerg, and end up getting admitted for a nasty case of pneumonia.
was told i would be out in 24 hours, but wait! they want to do a ct scan, because apparently the chest x-ray showed something that required a closer look.
that didn't get done until wednesday, and it turns out this pneumonia is some kind of cyst on my lung, so they want to keep me in for a bit longer to give me a really good dose of antibiotics before they let me go.
finally, friday afternoon, doctor asks if i want to go home. oh, fork, yes!
so, here i am, with a two-week supply of antibiotics and a puffer, and a whole lot of internet to catch up on.
how's your week been?

also! hospital food is the worst! they weren't feeding me enough, for one (i'm trying to gain weight and have a fairly speedy metabolism, even if i am just laying in bed all day), and while the vegan meals weren't awful (they had rice milk, and a pretty good kidney bean/tvp chili), it was the most boring food ever. their idea of a 'vegetarian shephard's pie' was... well, you know those mixed vegetables (carrots, corn, peas, green beans)? that, in some kind of... corn meal? maybe? it was mushy and yellow. and topped with mashed potato. i don't know what the fork it was, but shephard's pie it was not.
as soon as i got home, i stuffed myself with take-out vietnamese.

Sorry to hear you have been ill. Hope you get better soon. Honestly, you're lucky they had a vegan meal at all, with rice milk!

I had pneumonia once and it sucked pretty bad, but yours sounds like it had a pile of suck on top of it. Kind of like your pile of "shepherd's pie." How are you feeling today?
