I'm seeing my midwife in a couple of weeks to discuss changing birth control methods, because I'm so sick of having 10-day periods (I'm also a little worried about what it will do to my iron stores). It's a little sad, because otherwise I really like my copper IUD. So convenient! And free!

Except for horrible headaches, I didn't have one. I'm hoping for earlyish menopause.

Ugh, pms. I was trying to buy a new dog brush online, and found out they discontinued my favorite kind. I got really super pissed off. My response was totally out of proportion to the situation. I couldn't understand why I was so angry about a stupid dog brush, and then remembered that yup, it's that time of month. Now I know I'll be spending the next few days dealing with mood swings and cramps. (And I'm still angry. Why did you do this to me, scalpmaster 125?)

Why must it start right when I'm in the first day of a stressful trial?

how about a month where i don't pass out somewhere, huh? i'm here havering (as we used to call it in college when you're near a drunken pass out and feel the room spinning, don't know if it's a real word or not) while I'm supposed to be working. It's always like two days after my period ends, i can't decide if i dislike this or the pizza-face look more.

(no worries, the kid is here and she knows this happens regularly)

Yeah, my periods used to be a 28 day cycle reliable like clockwork for pretty much my whole menstruating life. Now they're fluctuating and unpredictable and have been for around the last year or so.

Thanks to stress my cycle is all over the place. I'm between a 25 day and a 32 day cycle over the past few months. I used to be dead on 28 days at 7.20am. Seriously...... the time was fairly exact.

My boobs are pure heavy and hurt like hell when I move so within the next few days I am going to be getting a visit. Luckily I've been prescribed painkillers for my injured thumb so I shouldn't cramp much.

I'm dying. The pain is unreal and the nasty bisque hasn't even arrived yet. I had to take a nap I was so tired the woke up with really bad nausea which rapidly turned to pain. I took a hot bath to try ease the pain until I could eventually eat then take painkillers. Curled up on the sofa with a hot water bottle and struggling to keep in the tears now.

Dear Period,

Fine. I will bake you a chocolate cake at 11:30 at night, even though I would much rather be asleep. In return, could you kindly ease up on the mood swings and the cramps? That would be greatly appreciated.

Not so much love,

The pain is no where near as bad today but it still hasn't arrived. I hate having so much pain before the damn thing even arrives.

If I'm feeling like I am in labour and about to puke from the pain I would hate to see what I would be like if I wasn't maxed out on painkillers. I wish the bisque would just turn up already so I can feel normal again.

Pretty sure my period's about to come early since I've been eating my weight in protein +/- twice every day all week.

The last couple months my period's been sneaky! I leave my meluna cup in until my normal last day pull it out and no blood and then the next day, BLOOD. Ergh, it's driving me nuts. Just spotting, but it doesn't usually do this!

Let the cramps begin. Ibuprofen and tea, here I come. The mood swings aren't bad this time, though I started bawling watching what should've been a funny video. (It was a bunch of guys dancing while holding a coffin and was really cool.)

I want to try using a menstrual cup again. I had so much trouble before, trying to get a Diva Cup in, and I think I may be too tight. Is there another brand I should try or what?

I filled my diva cup completely four times in nine hours today! I feel like I should get a prize.

Seriously thrilled my period started a week early; I'd much rather have it now than when I'm travelling and doing lots of art shiitake next week. However. Cramps. Seriously? (I never have cramps, as in, never.)

You should get some iron supplements as a prize! Not those measly 15mg ones though. And then figure out how to make the ridiculous bleeding stop. Re: the discussion on the last page, endometriosis is sometimes managed with oral contraceptives, but I sort of assumed anyone prescribing that sort of thing and hearing about your issues would be considering it a possibility anyway.

I just went back to the literature on migraines and contraception and there seems to be some fairly recent stuff out there on how to use combined oral contraceptives to stop estradiol levels from dropping by more than 10 μg to prevent menstrual migraine. Must investigate further.

My period started a week early, so .... about 3 weeks since my last period, one of which I spent totally sick (and fasting because everything was horrible and made me vomit). Someone explain to me how that turns into the heaviest period I've had in years? Because, really, I don't get it. It's been 2 days, and I've been through as many luna pads and inserts as I normally use for the whole bloody cycle.
