I decided I am going as an LOL cat.
Super easy to make costume (wear all black, ears, eyeliner whiskers, tail)
and around my neck I will have hanging off a string a bunch of black pieces of cardstock that have LOL Catz saying on them in white marker. Since my fiancee is headlining the party, I will do a bunch of stuff for his music when we are on stage, and also random stuff:
"I can haz Josh Chambers" (his name) "Kitteh sez drop the bass! right meow!" "Kitteh disapprovez your lame costume" "I sez, play more house muzak for kitteh!" Etc.
Should be fun! Ill bring a pen so I can make more up as the night goes on. My partner loves it, he is all excited now for the party. I'm happy because I can where somehting comfortable too. Probably black skirt, boots, tights and black tank top.

Let's say I was to be a Pony for halloween. A real-life kind, not My Little. Would that be possible to pull off without just looking like a horse? Also... would I need to shave my hair into a sort-of mohawk? I don't know if I have that kind of commitment.

I got most of my costume today! I'm going to be a pinup sailor girl, so my outfit is as follows: -a navy blue dress with tiny white polka dots. It's strapless and simple and has a bit of a ruffle over the knee -a red belt -red patent flats with peep toes and buckles -ship's wheel earrings that have an anchor in them -my peacoat (complete with anchor buttons) if it's chilly -a sailor hat of some sort if I can find one -drawn-on tattoos (swallow, anchor, nautical stars, ship, etc.)

Me as a butcher, my kid as a chicken. On my apron it will say "Its Okay, She's Free Range."

I want to be Nicki Minaj for some reason, but so far it looks like I'm just handing out candy this year, so I don't think that'll work. Why don't my friends throw parties?!

I've decided to go easy and be Daria. I really wanted to make a Daenerys costume, but didn't have time with school and work. I also wanted to go for Axl Rose and have my boyfriend be Slash, but he vetoed that idea.

I didn't have a costume planned, but now my office is having a contest of some kind, so I need to think of something. I was also considering Daria. Or some other girl or woman with dark-ish hair and bangs so I don't have to get a wig. Maybe Punky Brewster? starrynight87 wrote: missdelaney wrote: My hair is super, super red. So I'm trying to do something that allows me to keep my hair. So...Willow from Buffy (of course) or Alanna (from The Song of the Lioness quartert by Tamora Pierce. I have a sword and scabbard).
Neither is very exciting, but I have the means of clothes and accessories for both already! Go as Poison Ivy! Or, Mary Jane from Spider Man. I did that one year. I have the same hair issue! Red hair = Ariel! To avoid mermaid tail awkwardness you can be her just after she got legs, with the canvas & rope "dress."

I've decided to go with the mad professor thing this year as it's something I've thought about for years and it'll be cheap to do. I've got my hands on a lab coat, some gloves, surgical mask, goggles and such. Probably try to get some test tubes to fill with colorful liquids. I want some kind of gadget, too but I'm not sure what. Maybe like light-up headpiece or a DIY surgical saw. Dunno. Might be a zombie doctor? Something.

aww, thx guys! I only got one compliment at the party we went to, but I kind of prefer being all sneaky and "only certain people will know what the fizzle this is" with my costumes.

Just pick something and go for it! I will spend months working on a costume one year, so next year I'm all burnt out and just do something easy like a cat.
I know crack fox doesn't look that complicated, but sewing fur is kind of hard. And I've only sewn like 4 things ever, soooo, yeah.

This year LOL cat, but next year I need to live out my costume fantasy and go as Link from Zelda. Not the most funny/creative costume, but man, I just LOVE that game. And elf costumes are cute. I would need to make (or half make it) myself of course.
