So, I know Lavawitch has posted about cleaning Molly's cage with peroxide. I am finally equipped to do this, but need some expert guidance, figured i'd post it if someone else might find it useful.

Peroxide, normal 3% hydrogen peroxide, is stupidly expensive here and only comes in 100ml bottles. So I went to the chemical place and got myself a liter of 200volume peroxide, because the kid and I love the chemical store and any excuse for going there is a good one.

From what Dr Google tells me, 200 volume is the equivalent of 66% peroxide? I am assuming that the cleaning recipe is for 3 or 5%, and will calculate and dilute accordingly, but just want to check that I'm understanding the volume/percentage thing correctly. And that 3 or 5% is the proper strength needed for the vinegar-and-peroxide cleaning scheme.

3% works just fine. And plain old white vinegar. The order you spray them doesn't matter as long as they don't mix before contacting what you want to clean.

I had found some peroxide at the drug store with a spray attachment on it already! I had no idea they sold it like that, but it saved me from buying another spray bottle!

i tell you, this stuff is amazing. i've never cleaned with anything this effective that didn't threaten my health. it's done the nasty shiitake, like the algae growing on the bottom of the dish drainer, and the scum in the corner of the shower with no scrubbing, just a passing of the sponge to get it off. really good!!
