Just a casual look for a stay-in dinner* celebrating 2 1/2 years with my love. Testing out new eyelashes - with tiny diamantes on them (you can't really see them in my dodgy photobooth pics).


Eyes open.


Eyes closed.
(I want to reach into the photo and fix up the dodgy eyeliner).




*We were supposed to be going out, but it didn't quite end up happening. I'd already put intense makeup on, so I thought I'd might as well leave it that way.

looking good, gunk! those lashes are fantastic.

Very dramatic. I've never done false eyelashes, but I'd like to try sometime. Not sure if I could do it though. How do they feel? I can't stand most jewelry. I tried fake earrings for a costume once, but had to take them off almost at once.

I can understand going all OCD on eyeliner, but seriously, I didn't notice until you mentioned it so don't worry about it.

False lashes take some getting used to, but I find once they've been on a while I don't even notice them anymore. I LOVE me some fake eyelashes.

Today's makeup:
ELF: Tickled Pink (I think) blush, Teal eyeliner, Innocent eyeshadow
Shiro: Detective eyeshadow
Fyrinnae: Shinkirou eyeshadow
Wet n Wild "megavolume" mascara

I hate ELF's waterproof liquid eyeliner pens! Me and superfine nibs do not play well together. Very nice colour, though.

I'm lusting after Chantecaille stuff now. It's my aunt's fault. I think she is going to send me some stuff since she is purging her unused items. Like I need to develop a new expensive taste. I've deliberately never stopped at the counter.

I think everything they make is vegan, but I'm not sure. Anybody know? It seems like a lot of it is anyway, and they don't test.

I was looking at the Chantecaille stuff. I think that my bank balance might do a little cry because it looks very lovely.

I just got this new mascara and it is really really not waterproof, so even this timy amount of it will turn in to mad drunk raccoon eyes with the slightest bit of moisture (rain, sweat, crying, ANYTHING)

sighhh.

Awwww. What was this awful mascara called? Here's hoping it wasn't a big investment.

Reviving this thread cos I got a bunch of stuff from OCC in the mail today!



Here's one of the new lip tars I got, in "hoochie". I'm also wearing some of the new eyeshadow, along with stuff I already had, but since I've got on about 5 different colours and the lighting is bad, you can't really tell what's what. Also, I got some of the Barry M mascara that everyone has been raving about, and I was pretty impressed. I've only had really shitty vegan mascaras so far, so it didn't take much, but this stuff is really great.

Wow, kilgore trout, that definitely does not look like the first time you are rockin' that color, i din't know if I believe it! You are TOTALLY pulling it off, it suits you really well. I also love your eye makeup look. smokin'!

I loved my make up on Saturday, mainly because I had the coolest eyelashes on ever!!

(Excuse my unfinished, unblended eye, unfilled brows and uncovered eye bags - I just took this when I put the lashes on so I wouldn't forget.) Aren't they awesome!

I seem to be too clumsy to put on false lashes. I've been fiddling around for a while now and only succeeded in rubbing off my eyeshadow. It doesn't help that my longer set of tweezers fell behind the radiator and disappeared.

I struggle on myself (find it a piece of peas to put them on someone else.) I have a cool little lash application tool from ardell. It makes it way easier. will try and find a link.

I actually managed to stick the damned thing on by applying the glue to my eye (very carefully and sparingly with the back end of a needle) rather than the lash.

The Pixiwoo girls have a good video about putting on lashes, it's quite helpful. Although they use tweezers and I can't get the hang of that, except for tucking in the corners.

Basically you need put a thin layer of glue on (I do this with the end of a make up brush) and the let it go tacky for a good 30 seconds. Then look down, but don't close your eye and aim it right at the lash line. Then tuck in the corners and hold it in place for a few seconds. Also measure it before you glue it and trim if you need to.

It's really just practice. I still sometimes have to take the left one off and restick it, it's usually the left one I mess up.

It's a lot easier putting them on someone else, because you can get the angle just right.
