I'm sick and my boyfriend asked if there was anything he could get for me, so I said apple juice if it was no trouble. He brought round a giant carton of apple juice, plus plums and mint creme chocolates!
Second best thing was re-reading all my old small press comix from the 90s. There's some right old shiitake in there, but some great little jewels as well.

I was sick yesterday and I wanted apple juice too! And my hubby made a trip for it. He made another trip later for some french bread. I wouldn't put it as the best thing about my day though, because the day just sucked so bad I don't want to remember anything as best. The best part of my day today so far is that I have been able to eat something other than apple juice.

I only had to work this morning, so I had the afternoon and evening off. I decided to clean the house, cook a shiitake ton of food, and just have some quality time with myself. I feel so relaxed, in my clean house, which smells of chocolate cake and pumpkin muffins.

My phone came! It's crazy! I can't handle a smartphone. I am much too excited.
Also, the waiter stuck a candle in the carrot cake my brother ordered for dessert (we went out for his super belated birthday dinner) and started singing. It was awesome.

The lad who sits behind me at football sent me a message out of the blue to say he is going vegan for 2 weeks. This was the least likely thing I have ever heard. He has asked me about it at matches before in a semi mocking semi interested way. He asked me yesterday if I could recommend a place he could get lunch in another city. I didn't know of anywhere so I sent him a link to Happy Cow and he has just tweeted me a picture of his vegan lunch and said how much he enjoyed it. I am wondering what I can take him to the match on Sunday as a treat!

Bestworst: I had my interview for the elementary education program at my school today. Best because it's over with and I think I did okay. Worst because I won't get my answer until Thanksgiving weekend. AHHH.

I scored an 89% on my A+ practice test today, up from 85% yesterday, and the first one I took was 76%. (I'm working on getting a few certifications for I.T. so I can be a certified geek, not just a geek!)

I just submitted my Honours thesis. Four days early, and totally un-stressed about the whole thing!

I came home with a box of fancy crackers, some raw vegan cheezy spread/pate thing, organic apples, and cocoluscious peppermint choc chip icecream. I am good at treating myself! But seriously, the last two weeks have been very low-stress - I basically could've handed it in a week ago, and I don't think I really did any actual writing this month, so I'm not too hard done by.

Just increased my student loan amount. That in and of itself is not awesome (yay, more debt) but it means that I will now be able to afford enough childcare that I can maybe actually have enough time to keep up with a full-time graduate course load.

Boooooots! I was out to lunch last Friday with a couple of friends and one of the things two of us (myself included) were bemoaning is that we have monster calves and can never find tall boots that fit. She had recent bought some "wide shaft" (heh) boots and I was saying how hard it is to find those in non-leather. So anyway, yesterday the heel broke off her "wide shaft" (heh) boots and she had to find new ones right away because she was working too far away from home to go change. She found some lovely pull-on ones that stretch and they fit her even though they aren't "wide shaft" (heh) and she was showing them to our other friend last night saying, "I didn't know leather could stretch that much." Then she looked at the tag and they said "all man-made materials" so the two of them were all, "Tell Kirstin!" So I went out at lunch to try them on and they pulled right up, no unsightly bulging or muffin-topping even though online they said the shaft was 15.5 inches and my calves are 16. It's like the Sisterhood of the Travelling Boots, except that we each have our own pair.

I got to my car this afternoon, and realized that I had left the window WIDE OPEN and my GPS out last night. However, no one had touched a single thing.

I finished a piece of knitting that I've spent like a billion million hours on and learned like four new skills for. And, it looks okay.
