I just reserved a my spot and a book! I was debating it for a while because I didn't really want to go by myself, but oh well. I'm excited, anyway. Will I be able to use my ABC discount card there? I'm assuming so, even though it's already discounted, as it's an ABC event, right?

Hey PoesiePie!
That's a good question, I will ask tomorrow! The book is already discounted quite a lot, and it's a joint venture (Hotel V and ABC) so not sure how that works, but will ask tomorrow for you and let you know!
See you on Thursday!

I haven't asked for sure, but I'm fairly certain that because we've already calcluated a significant discount into the books being sold at the event that there won't be any extra discounts given.

I spoke to the powers that sell books, and indeed that is the case! Since this is a special occasion and the discount was big, the card will not be valid. Sorry about that!

I also wanted to say, PoesiePie, you may be coming on your own, but there will be plenty of PPKers there! I'm pretty sure Cornelie is coming, and I think you already know her.
I'll be working the event (either on the food or book end, I'm not sure where they'll need me) and am contemplating wearing a PPK shirt. Would that be incredibly forking dorky, kinda-sorty dorky, a little tiny bit dorky, or not at all dorky?

Lepelaar, I think that sounds like an excellent idea. Maybe there will be other PPKers lurking in the crowd - think of all the instant friends you could make! And all the bonus vegan points you will suddenly have!

I didn't mean to come off as greedy with the discount thing. I know it's already a good deal. I just got the card last week, though, so I was curious. Yes, lepelaar, wear your shirt! Dorky in a good way!

I'm going and I think there will be lots of other people you can be friendly with, so don't worry about coming alone PoesiePie.
And yes to the PPK shirt. I wish I had a PPK shirt to wear to stuff like this :-)

I haven't posted on the PPK in way too long, but luckily I found out about this event through another forum. It sounds like it's going to be so much fun - I'm excited! I've never been to a cooking demo and this new cookbook looks amazing, so I can't wait.

The ABC website says the doors open at 19:00 and the cooking demo starts at 20:00. So I think I'm going to try and be there 19:30. Dinner is ready on the stove, so I can eat quickly and catch the train to Amsterdam.

Ok, then I'll aim for 19:30 - 19:45
Edit: I assume you can also pay by PIN for the book? (but will carry some cash anyhow)

It was really great! Terry is funny and sweet and gracious. Both the seitan and cheesecake were amazing! I can't wait to get into this book!

Did anyone happen to copy down (or remember) the recipe for the sauce that was on the seitan?? I looooved that and really want to make it at home, but it's not in the book, and I'm sad! There's a recipe for dilly sour cream (which seems the most similar, as it's dilly and tangy, but definitely not the same, as there's yogurt and mayo in it), and a recipe for cashew yogurt sauce, but neither of them are the same. The one from last night, I believe, was mostly cashews, lemon juice, olive oil and garlic, right? Can anyone help?
