I made Bianca (aka Miss Crunk)'s birthday cake last weekend. I had seen some sprinkle cakes online and thought 'hey, that looks easy and fun!' It was neither. But Bianca was worth it, and I was pretty pleased with the end results, so it all worked out the in end.

that looks awesome! so...how did you do it?! i can't even imagine how you got them all over the sides. i would have made the worlds biggest mess.

also, what vanilla cake recipe do you use? it looks perfect!

I did it by making the world's biggest mess. Seriously, I had sprinkles in my bra, in my shoes, EVERYWHERE. In the end I just sold my soul to the devil. If I ever forget what I huge pain in the asparagus it was enough to try it again, I'm totally going to video it and force everyone who eats a slice watch how hard I worked on it.

I use Bryanna Clark Grogan's Genoise Cake recipe! It is the BEST vegan vanilla cake I've made, and also the only one I've gotten really consistent results from.

oh awesome. thanks. i'm always looking for vanilla cake to taste like a cake from the grocery store and i haven't found it yet, but yours looks close! ima try it!

also, glad to know that professional bakers get awesome results by make huge messes, too.

That is really beautiful and impressive. I'm definitely going to try that recipe too, so thanks! I have yet to find a vegan white cake recipe I'm happy with.

Yay! Bryanna's recipe is awesome - I would definitely recommend using cake flour as the recipe lists, it gives a finer crumb than all purpose. Also, if you have a stand mixer, don't beat it on too high a speed or your cake will develop tunnels. That's the only issue I've had with the recipe, but sticking with lower speeds has eliminated that.

that is the best cake! the best. i LOVE sprinkles, i was the kid who went nuts putting sprinkles on her ice cream. this would be my dream cake.

That looks amazing. If I tried that there would be a sprinkle disaster of epic proportions, probably involving a call to FEMA and large scale evacuations.
