It's totally worth it. It will change your DH's mind. And if not, more food for you!

I attended Terry's cooking demonstration in Amsterdam yesterday. We got to taste the Gyro Roasted Seitan and a banana chocolate cheesecake. Both dishes were to die for. I am officially obsessed with that seitan.
I got the book and I'm already in love with it even though I haven't made anything yet. The recipes look awesome and there is plenty of stuff I can make without having to go on a crazy ingredient scavenger hunt.

I should have ordered this book a few days ago when they had a really good discount on it. It is after going up by €5 now.

Ordered it today. I had more money left than I thought so I didn't have to wait until payday.

Mine shipped yesterday afternoon and showed up this morning. It's SO PRETTY. I've already spent too long reading the beginning and haven't even gotten to the recipes yet.

Hooray mine just came!!
Am I the only one who jumped about a foot when I saw the radish and pita "severed finger" on p. 101?
So there's that. The recipes look amazing, though add me to the list of people who's all awwww, recipes split among pages. And there should be more photos, with or without severed fingers, but there could be 3 full page full color photographs of each recipe and I'd still say that.

I spent like two hours going through this book, marking dishes to make, which seemed like a good idea, except now there's a slip of paper in like every other page.

Just bought it at the local bookstore yesterday! Made the Massaman curry for dinner, which is my favorite food on earth and I am forever looking for the best recipe. It was sooo good. Everything in it looks amazing!

Is there a 2nd cover for it? When I go into the track order on The Book Depository it shows a different cover. Still Vegan Eats World but a purple cover with different graphics on it.

The steamed lemon olive seitan is cooling down as we speak! It was my first time making seitan and it didn't go as smooth as it looked on Thursday when Terry did it.... Keeping my fingers crossed it will taste good anyway! I had Seitan Fear so who knows how long it'll take me to have courage again if today turns out to be a disaster. :\ For example, it didn't really grow in size (yes, I kept room in the foil) and still seemed raw after 30 minutes - I ended up doubling the steaming time. We'll know tomorrow!

On the list for this week (I forget the actual names, but you get the idea):
-the berbere lentils & ethiopian collards & the teff flour crepes... I love Ethiopian, and I've never made it at home before, so I'm really forking excited about this one. It'll probably be a fancy weekend dinner.
-jackfruit carnitas
-chipotle tofu sammiches
-sauerkraut soup
EXCITE

So, the cover says 300 recipes and then the title page says 250. What gives? I'm too lazy to go and count the recipes... Haha.
Anyway, I've looked through a few chapters and the food looks good. I'm planning on finishing giving it a once over later today so I can pick out some recipes I'd like to try first.

It's probably including any variations in the 300...if there are any. My copy still hasn't shipped. That always happens when I preorder from Amazon.
