Earth Fare gave me a coupon for a free bag or Organic Earth Lollis with a $5 purchase! I'm not sure if I'll be home on Halloween night, but I snatched them up to go in treatbags for my daughter's class. I know there's at least one kid in there with allergies/sensitivities, so I'm pretty happy about being able to send those.
And on a related question...Trick or treating in downtown is tomorrow night...is it wrong if I send the candies we don't eat to school for their party next week? I always give the candy away to someone, so I may as well save me some cash. Thoughts?

Or take turns throwing a party on halloween night with other people who don't want to give out candy. That way you;ll be at their house and only have go give out candy on the year when it's your turn to host! Bekki, go for it!

I used to swap shifts so I would be working all day and not get home until after 8.30. Damn 9-5! Unfortunately all my friends have kids so it's a "make sure you are home so we can call for sweets." I have plenty of sweets this year. I figure if there is anything left over I can hook up some USA people with starburst.

We don't get trick or treaters, at least I assume we don't (first Halloween here), but if we do, oh boy! I have a case of super fancy full-sized vegan chocolate bars with alder smoked sea salt, maple syrup, and dried apple. Maybe a bit sophisticated for kids, but I still think we'd make a kid or two happy. And otherwise their parents will enjoy them.
I also like giving out chips because that was my personal favourite as a child, and many brands are vegan. Old Dutch for the win.

I LOVE this idea! They get so much candy anyway!!

Are the little hot and mild sauce packets from Taco Bell vegan? My hubby has about 60 of those in the kitchen. Soy sauce packets and Chinese mustard might work too.

I like to get a few packages of agave sticks at Whole Foods. They're pretty cheap and kids just assume they're honey sticks so they don't think they're weird or anything.

If only they knew we are vegan. Maybe you can write "vegan" on the hot sauce packets so they know to egg you with a flax egg or just throw egg replacer all over your house?
