I burned my hair the first time I ever played with my fire hoop, and it didn't stop me! Just made me start wearing a hat.

Accidentally slept until 2:30 in the afternoon...

I had the news on almost all day with hurricane coverage, partly because there really isn't anything else on. But I suddenly became very conscious that watching all that was doing nothing but making me very anxious. I had to go on a media fast. Except the PPK, of course. Because honestly, now I have no idea what to do with myself.

My hair's short! And grows back, too.

I used to do that frequently when I was in my early twenties. I have always had problems with sleep--waking up WAY too early, too late, insomnia. When I do sleep, I sleep like a log and nothing (nothing!) can rouse me. It's really frustrating. When I know I'm going to bed too late and have to work early the next day, I force myself to sleep on the couch because I'm scared that if I'm in bed I'll just sleep through my (crazy loud) alarm.

A builder came over to fix the buckled laminate flooring in our front room and confirmed that yes, it has been caused by damp (Which the landlady has been denying!). We'll be moving out once our tenancy is up but it's going to be a pain running the dehumidifier all the time and with clearing condensation off every window every morning until we can leave.

1 am trip to the emergency room. Verdict: a kidney stone. They couldn't fill my prescription, so I'm trying to make do with ibuprofen until 8 when the pharmacy opens. A couple of roads were blocked off on the way, so I had to navigate around them in severe pain.

Oh crepe, Dr. A. That sucks! Will they be trying to break it up or do you just have to wait for it to pass? Here's hoping you get some pain relief soon!

I am in complete denial and I need advice about how to deal/react/be supportive with something I don't have any idea how to deal with.

Brutal! Please feel better soon! How awful to get sick in this kind of weather.

I have to wait for it to pass. It's got to be close now--I can feel it scratching a path towards my bladder. The percocet helps but doesn't eliminate the pain completely. Ugh.

Oh man, that is torture! Hope it passes quickly for you. Did they give you meds to dilate your UT? That was what helped me. Good luck!

The oversleeping messed up last night's sleep :(

a childhood friend, my best friend's older brother, shot himself in the head and died at 8:45 this morning in his mother's house.

Coworker A is very dark-skinned and will be wearing an all-black outfit to work for Halloween. Coworker B relayed this to me and said, "I wanted to tell her she'll have to smile a lot so we can SEE HER!" Haw-haw! Get it?!? Because apparently I work in a 1920s racist cartoon. What the blue fork?

I don't want Coworker A to have to deal with this racist shiitake, but I would like to see how far Coworker B would fly through the air if she ever worked up the nerve to say it to her face.

I got ignored for WoW. Normally Tuesday is the night my boyfriend and I hang out, since during the rest of the week he's busy. But from the time I got home today, till about now, he's been in his room playing WoW. I'd like to think I'm more exciting than video games, but apparently not. Gah.

My worst thing... I have the tiniest bit of sinus infection feeling that won't go away. Just one spot that is sore/stuffy and I can't get it to clear. I'm thinking neti pot is the next thing I'll try, but I wish it would clear out on its own. 2+ months of sinus infection isn't fun (I've done antibiotics and been to the dr twice).
