Sounds like fun, seitanicverses.

And thanks for the kickity-kick. I might need one today. Last night I transformed into a younger version of me and went out dancing till 4 am (I never do that!). It was fun. Still, even though my phone woke me up at nine, I want to get some writing done today. I've been looking forward to it all week. (Today is a national holiday, so more free time for writing. Yay!)

It's not the world, but I'm currently at...

I also wrote a short abstract to better organize the overall structure of my paper, and I think it helped. At least it sounds as if this could become something potentially awesome.

Good for you, Phoenix! You're getting there. Keep going!

I worked on a short story for two hours today. I'm allowing myself to work on short stories and poems on the weekends.

I put my time in today ~1900 words. Gearing up for Nano.

More kicks for me too, please. Took a day off writing yesterday to just lounge in front of the TV and eat chocolate and get some additional hours of sleep. But I need more words.

Alright. Kicked my own pants a little. Since I didn't really feel like doing a lot of academic writing today but had some thoughts (and, indeed, feelings) I felt the need to express, I scribbled a couple of paragraphs that might make it into a foreword of sorts. At least I have put those thoughts down in writing now, so I won't forget them as soon as my mind is flooded with new impulses (or more to-dos).

The latest mergers in the publishing world have got me spooked all over again. I feel like my window for getting a book (traditionally) published is closing!

And I have lost my momentum again. It's slippery.

Random Penguin? I know!

(My fingers keep trying to type "unquote"... It's definitely time for a little more writing!!)

You can do it, FF! I'm having a meh week as well, and I want to get a couple hundred words in today even though it's Halloween. Well, tomorrow at the latest - but then it will have to be a proper chunk of writing, preferably coherent. I want to feel that I'm getting somewhere!

Keep at it, writers! I've been having momentum issues too; I don't know if I've so much as looked at a piece of fiction in about a week. I've been writing and revising poems pretty steadily, so there's that.

Poems totally count, kilgore trout. At the very least, you can practice your metaphors. :)

Yeah, I say any type of writing totally counts. I find the different disciplines in writing can also help complement the other (poetry is good experience for fiction writing, fiction helps poetry come easier and more relaxedly - if relaxedly's a word--but you know what I mean)

Yesterday because of the power outage, I couldn't do my paid work on my other puter, so I worked on my personal writing until my laptop batteries wore out. I put my novel time in (I've just been back at the stream-of-consciousness Nano style because I need some more material to work with) and worked on another short piece that I'm not sure I'll bother finishing and came up with a long poem idea and found an epigram (or is it epigraph?) for it but I didn't actually write any of the poem at all. But I'm thinking of it and as soon as stanzas start forming themselves, I'll get my pen out. I don't force poetry these days--although I used to--and I'm not against forcing it, I just have other types of writing going to occupy my time that I can just jump on it when it comes.

So, my writing's been well kept up with. Gonna do today's count now, but just gonna fly through it, not think much about it or be too precise because it's Halloween and I'm takin' it easy!

Ghostly kicks! Which are more like nudges! With bunny slippered feet! Keep it up, everyone! <3

Ahem. I did something scary and submitted a story I wrote last year to a magazine. Totally expecting it to be rejected, but it had to be done.

Thanks! :D

Today must be a good day for switching up writing modes. During breakfast (more or less) I already jotted down about 400 words of notes for my creative writing project that I've been neglecting for a while. Good to know that the ideas are still there.

Now to make some more tea and get back to the academic stuff.

I'm super fast today. Reached my self-imposed goal almost the second my boyfriend came home.

I've earned myself a break (and a beer, I guess, seeing that I didn't get any beer last night.)

So I submitted some poems to my school's lit magazine. Last year I submitted three poems (five is the maximum), one of which I thought was great and two that I thought were good; my logic being that rejection would sting less if I held back a little bit. This year I submitted what I think are the five best poems I've written this year.
Eep.
