Ohh no. Since 23 weeks is the furthest I've gotten, you all are somewhat terrifying me.

I personally thought the beginning of pregnancy was the worst and the end was no big whoop. I felt comfortable till the day I delivered.

Everyone has a different experience. I was super-tired, but didn't have any contractions or anything until labor started... Apparently you feel them more in subsequent pregnancies. Hope that provides some comfort annamal!

Everyone is so nice to you at the end. I was pretty comfortable the whole time until a couple days before.

Sorry, I'm just commiserating with LB. Some people have great third trimesters! You could get lucky on that front.

Difficult task to balance commiseration with hopefulness!

I think my end-of-pregnancy was super comfy because I had extremely few braxton-hicks contractions and also I put all my nesting energy into work, so I wasn't feeling miserable at work, I was feeling super productive. Strangely the extra weight (70 pounds) didn't make me feel uncomfy, I was still handling stairs and standing just fine.

the thing that's making me grouchy is that i'm not getting much sympathy. mr. bird gets all jumpy every time i breathe deeply, my sister and mom are both being dismissive to the point that i want to punch them in the faces (because they've both gone overdue with their pregnancies, so what do i know about being uncomfortable), and i have been expecting to deliver since 35 forking weeks. i'm actually not terribly terribly physically uncomfortable when i'm not having bh or contractions... i can walk pretty comfortably, i'm not swelling up or dying of heartburn or exhaustion any more.

i have honestly found this whole pregnancy to be a bit of a bummer. not the happy, glowy pregnant goddess that i probably should be, and really really looking forward to being done and not ever having to do this again!

Happy glowy pregnant goddess = the kind of crepe that only happens in a Meg Ryan movie. Sweaty, fuzzy-brained, clumsy penguin-person...that I know. :)

FWIW, I too was more bothered by the beginning. Hurling at the smell of bread and so so very tired. Blech.

I was much more uncomfortable in the early weeks too. I was exhausted and nauseated and just plain felt icky. At the end I just felt huge and clumsy but I wouldn't have even cared if he had needed to stay in longer than week 42 if it weren't for my mother staying with me and driving me batty. I really liked how solicitous everyone is of you when you are 9 months pregnant

Yeah, that is rough to deal with emotionally/mentally! My mom had 5 kids, and the first 4 of us were all some flavor of early. (I was born at 34 weeks and the other 3 were somewhere between 36 and 38.) She was surprised, not happy surprised, to go to almost 42 weeks with her fifth. I can still remember how palpably annoyed she was by pretty much everything. I hope it's not that long for you!

My first and third trimesters were about equally bad with the Emperor, as was most of my second trimester. It was just a shitty pregnancy! But I loved my pregnancy with the Magician up until about 36 weeks, at which point the only place I was comfortable was on my bike, the only way I could sleep was on the couch if I wedged myself just right with pillows on one side, the only thing I could eat was nothing because M was pushing on my stomach in such a way that I was pretty much always vomiting, etc etc. Seriously guys, it was the dog's balls.

Up til that point I really did understand the people who claim that they love being pregnant and that it makes them feel all happy and wonderful and shiitake. I definitely think it's possible to enjoy it all!

for some reason my husband really likes the monkey outfits with the monkey feet so we already own one even though im not even remotely close to my due date.

it also has a big monkey head on the bum.
