Any cheap drugstore brands of shampoo and conditioner that are vegan?

I think VO5 is vegan, but I'm not positive. I can't find a reliable source right now.

You can get Giovanni at Target! Often on sale for about $6 a bottle!

I use the Spa one from Trader Joe's. I think it's $2.99 or $3.99 a bottle.

Whole Foods brand. Not crazy cheap, but cheaper than most vegan/natural brands out there.
Edit: Oops, I guess that's not a drugstore brand... but there you go.

Do you guys get Original Source in Americania? Most of their stuff is vegan and it's usually about £2 a bottle, but seems to be half-price as often as not (and their raspberry one is like washing your hair in sweeties).

White Rain is vegan and usually costs around $1 for a 15 oz bottle. It's similar to Suave but without the animal testing.

I bought Tressame last time I was at Target because the bottle said "NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS" and the ingredients looked vegan to me. I later read online that they do test on animals. Grrrrr. So I think I'm going to stick with Trader Joes and Whole Foods store brand shampoo and conditioner- I know that isn't drug store, but it is cheap and worth checking out if you're shopping at those stores anyway.

I've tried both WF and TJ brands and honestly hated both of them. Plus, health store brands always seem to have Aloe in them, which oddly enough causes my neck and hairline to break out. Go figure. Thanks for the White Rain and VO5 recs!

Yeah, is that the 365 brand stuff? That stuff sucks. I guess it might be fine if your hair is really healthy (mine is dry and fine), but I find it strips my hair of any moisture.
I splurge a bit on shampoo and just don't wash my hair very often. Right now I'm using non-drugstore stuff--Lush's Big shampoo and a salon conditioner that happens to be vegan. Honestly, my hair will totally reject crappy shampoos.

With Lush Shampoo, I use a small scoop and then don't have to wash my hair for 4 days.

CVS brands are not tested on animals (correct me if I'm wrong) and they have Tresemme knock-offs and Pantene knock-offs. I quickly glanced at the ingredients and the tresemme-style shampoo looked vegan but the conditioner had hydrolized keratin (?) However the CVS pantene-style shampoo and conditioner looked vegan (and they are bogo 50% right now).

You will be out 26 bucks for both shampoo and conditioner, but if it's just you, it should last the better part of a year. I think I have to buy it every 4-5 months for three of us.

I have not been lucky to find it at TJ Maxx. However Costco has it but not in the formula I use...

I've tried the WF brand of shampoo and hate it. It makes me hairy greasy and plasticy.

I can't even remember the last time I had dirty/greasy hair, and I regularly go on four-day stretches of no shampooing. I'm pretty sure that I'm actually saving money, even though Big is kind of pricey.

I enjoy the shampoo and conditioner by Kiss my Face....there is some sort of moisturizing one that is for dry or damaged hair that I like to use! I don't find it to be too too expensive.

Costco is not a drugstore, I realize, but I used their brand shampoo and conditioner at my parents' house and it's pretty awesome (and it says vegan and no animal testing right on the bottle!).

kasiakoz wrote: I have a hard time dealing with the scent of most Lush stuff - is this one pretty smelly? No, not really! It took me FOREVER to warm up to Lush because of the borderline-offensive smells from the stores, but I find Big really mild. I can't even remember off the top of my head WHAT it smells like, so that must mean it's pretty subtle, because I don't like super-smelly stuff either.

I have been a huge fan of the WF shampoo and conditioner for over five years now. I use the grapefruit scented for normal/dry hair and love it so I was surprised at the number of negative comments.

I've been using Nature's Gate shampoo and body wash. It's from the USA but I buy it in TKMaxx or Home Sense. It's vegan, cruelty free and really nice.
KAnn - I really want some of the coffee from the Cat Shelter, such a great idea! Do you think they'd mail it to the UK?
