Koshik is such a smarty pants!!! I listened to the audio files and they blew my mind!

Quote:
Researchers report that the mammal has learnt to imitate human speech and can say five words in Korean: hello, no, sit down, lie down and good.

The zoo animal places the tip of his trunk into his mouth to transform his natural low rumble into a convincing impression of a human voice.

Elephants kick asparagus, end of story.

I keep reading the subject line of this as "annoying" like you're so pissed that elephant speaks more Korean than you do.

This is both impressive and sad (because he didn't have other elephants to socialize with).

All I can think of is the Korean kid Lucille adopted on Arrested Development. Annyeong! It never gets old.

Yes, I heard about this on the radio. First, my mind was blown by the ability of the elephant. Then they talked about how he was probably motivated to try to communicate with his trainers because he had no contact with other elephants during key developmental phases of his youth and my heart just broke.
