Just do it! I have been sooooo exhausted, weak, sickly, and sadly enough, it is me avoiding taking my vitamins. I just got my blood test results and my B12 is super super waaaay low. Don't be like me and be "that" vegan.

I just bought two bottles! I hadn't taken one in... years, I think, even though I knew it was dumb. Then I suddenly got scared that my brain was deteriorating and got on it.
I hope yours comes back up quickly!

Sorry to hear that hun. Are they going to give you the shots?
I'm really tired lately so thinking of getting my B12 levels checked. To top it off the past few weeks I've been missing doses here and there.

I'm not sure what they are going to do. I just got the results while I'm in an airport, traveling, and I feel so dumb for letting myself become a sickly vegan. I've been vegan for 7+ years and was totally healthy until now. Ugh, B12! It's a thing. It is apparently the root cause of my anemia.

You're not one bit dumb! You were responsible by going to your doctor. At least you know what is wrong x

I was just really, really lazy about taking them. I started a new job in March and just got "too busy" (I know, dumb) to take them. I thought I was feeling off/exhausted because of working nonstop, but it turns out there is a cause. Which I'm grateful for, honestly, because at least I know what is going on.

Seems that high doses of b12 taken orally can work just as good as injections. I suggest you start taking b12 with a relatively high doses. (like 1000mcg a day) That's better than doing nothing until you can see your doctor.

I'm glad you got it all figured out and I hope you're back to feeling like yourself soon. I've been super good about taking my B12 for the past two months (compared to before... when I never took it), so this is a good reminder to keep it up!

Yes yes! You don't want to mess around with B12 deficiency. It's dangerous.

Take your B12! I just had bloodwork done and my levels are good, but I take Emergen-C 4-5 times a week and drink fortified milks often.

I gotta get some B12. I eat nooch like a mofo and eat fortified things but I could be doing better. My doctor won't test my levels, she says they don't do that. So I feel dangerous and cool because I don't know where my levels are now.

I noticed you were saying you were busy and tired in your posts here and there but I knew you had a job that really kept you going and I figured it was because of that. I'm glad you got to the bottom of it so you can have more energy and feel better.
I take a vitamin supplement daily--I take a multivitamin one day and then the next day I take a Floravit (or is it Floradix? Whichever one is veg) and that has vitamin B complex in it. I don't know if my doc check my levels, but I think I'm covered. Anyway, I feel physically okay so I guess I am.

I just started taking it again this last week. I don't take it every day though; I probably should...

I should do this. My excuse is always that I don't remember until the evening and if I take it in the evening I won't be able to sleep. I'm not even entirely sure this is true, or why this prevents me from taking it in the morning.
Fortunately I feel fine right now. As long as I take it somewhat consistently I'm fine, but my body doesn't store it up like most people and that's when I start getting weird nerve issues.

I don't take b12 (ever), I don't eat many b-fortified foods (if ever) and I've been out of nooch for a while. I had blood work done not too long ago and specifically had my b12 levels tested and I was fine. I'm always confused about how I've never had problems with my b12 level.

I was fine for 11 years of vegetarianism and then toward the end of my second year vegan I was barely functional--thought I had mono again. Got my B12 levels checked and they were way low. I really wouldn't tempt it, to be honest. Once you go through your stores it can take a good amount of time supplementing to get them back up again, and really you should just always be supplementing.

@vijita Just start melting b12 tabs under your tongue and feel better until you can get to a doctor!!! And, thanks for the reminder! *tucks b12 under tongue* (P.S. red wine and b12 tablets do not taste great together.)

I take sublingual B-12, but we just realized it has xlitol in it. Be super careful if yours does, too, it's terribly dangerous for dogs! xo kittee
