Actually it sounds like you're good! http://www.followyourheart.com/frequent ... helf-life/If I leave Vegenaise ® un-refrigerated for a while, do I need to be concerned? Though we do recommend that Vegenaise be kept refrigerated at all times, it can be left un-refrigerated for up to a week. How long does Vegenaise stay fresh after I open it? Vegenaise has the same shelf life opened or unopened. It is not heat or vacuum sealed, so you can always use the "Use By" date on the jar as a shelf life reference.

If it tastes fizzy, it's gone off.
If it tastes like veganaise, it's okay.

Yep, we had a jar unrefrigerated in our hotel room in SF for a week last year with no problems.

turns out we were only without power for 18 hours (the power was on when i got home so i guess the power company's outage map was lying to me) so the only casualty in the fridge for was 4 pieces of leftover tofurky pizza. it was super mushy it was supposed to be my lunch today so now im pizza-less and sad.

I did have a jar of unrefirgerated veganiase, but I found it after a coule of months of sitting out. I guess I just forgot to put it in the fridge when I came home from shopping. It totally had green stuff growing in it though, and it was sealed (never opened) but this was after maybe eight to twelve weeks of no refrigeration.

Weeeird.
My tummy explodes at the slightest hint of potential food poisoning, so I'd err on the side of caution, but that's good to know.

I have left a few jars out here and there on accident or whatever and I always figured it was fine because it is a ton of oil, acids and salt -- the three main natural preservatives that have let humans not die from eating wretched things for thousands of years.

Recently I put a just purchased jar of Vegenaise on my pantry shelf instead of the fridge accidentally. My fiance discovered it a few hours later and I convinced him it was probably fine. I'm glad I have some actual facts to back this up now.

This is news to me! However, my mum did make a potato salad with some Vegenaise that she had left out of the fridge for more than a week ("because it's vegan"), and we unknowingly ate it up before I noticed the Vegenaise in her pantry and freaked out a bit. None of us were ill, though.
