Great piece on Daily Kos about Mitt "Four Vietnam Deferments" Romney, who spent the war in France as a Mormon missionary, but really wished—oh, golly—that he was part of the fighting.

I figure the kind of people who vote for Mittens think it's perfectly fine that he didn't serve in the military, because he was doing the Lard's work as a missionary.

I certainly have nothing against him for not being in the military. I have something against him being a chickenhawk (supporting military action but getting out of it when your number comes up). And then saying he really wished he could have fought! He deliberately got out of it 4 times!

this makes me wonder whom my dad is voting for.
he was drafted in Vietnam and went and now refuses to speak about what happened during his time there other than to say "we shouldnt have been there"

my parents seem to be independent types so there is no obvious any to me about whom they are voting for.
i like to think some of my crazy liberalness rubs off on them but i dunno
