Same here. I just can't handle it. I'm watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix because that's almost as stressful.

So I like Huffington post little infographic, it shows county by county and compares to the 2008 election. Obama is killing SC in counties that are reporting in (but still don't think he'll take it). He is doing poorly in VA compared to 2008 and doing better in Ohio than 2008. NC seems about even with 2008. He is doing about the same in FL.

It is interesting to see him stronger in some red states than he was in 2008.

half my fb is people freaking out with anxiety over the election.
the other half is people saying shitty things.

apparently having Spanish on the ballot in some places is pissing some people off.
they're saying if you cant read English you shouldnt be allowed to vote and two languages is confusing.

im saying if you (the people saying two languages is confusing) cant find the English part and understand it then YOU shouldnt be allowed to vote.
then when someone said in their area Vietnamese was on their ballot someone just replied "ew"

really? is voting only for white people who can read English? last i checked this whole country was founded on immigrants.
people make me sick.

come on Florida and Ohio!!! let's go BLUE!

I can't really fathom the idea that Mitt Romney will win. I know it is a very actual possibility but it just seems like I'm stuck in a bad horror movie.

Yes, this is true. Not much from Fairfax yet. This is how Virginia always goes. It's still scaring me. Also, this year, Fairfax is very concerned with the end of the tax cuts. Even the democrats are projecting scary job losses. Obama is not likely to get a landslide there this time around.

Prince William could go Romney.

Sorry, VA you belong to Mitt now.

Good news is Obama is widening his lead in Ohio and Florida (but FL is going to be a nail biter). NC is still close (I don't think he'll get it).

the news people are out of control. they are way too hyped up. they all seem to have developed speech impediments and are all stumbling over their words.

it's worse than the weather people here who get all excited when a big storm is coming.
they all need to take a deep breathe and simmer down!

Nooooooo. We can't say until the blue counties report. It's looking bad now, but not definitive.

Please do not let Allen win. I may never speak to my dad again.

That is true, several eastern counties are not in, but it is still not looking great.

Truthfully, 4 years ago I had NO IDEA that Obama was even in the running in NC. I just assumed he had no chance because its the south and all that. Then he actually WON (if by morningish). So anyway, who knows.

But guuuuh Virginia. Its scary there right now!

Ohio is lookin goood though.

I remember Bush v Gore and thinking there was no way anyone could vote for Bush, because he was such a goofball, and then he won (albeit after weeks of legal wrangling). And Bush seems so benign in comparison. On the Daily Show yesterday, a guest was saying that if Romney is elected we could end up in Iran, which means an insanely expensive war, even more so than Iraq.

And how in the name of all that is good and holy did the GOP manage to paint themselves as the party of job growth and the economy after their policies of low tax coupled with high government borrowing and decreased regulation took us from a Clinton-era surplus with a healthy banking system to huge deficits with the international banking system poised to collapse. They ran on that in 2010 and won and did nothing for jobs but enacted a slew of draconian social regulations.

At the same time, I am really annoyed with the Democrats not fighting back against the systemic voter oppression, having Bain owning Diebold, and other injustices that make it so hard for people to vote for them. Yes fine Obama, tell people to stay on line and that waiting for hours is worth it, but at least promise that this pattern of you letting the GOP fork with us is at an end. The GOP is a turn-out machine. They can get their people on the ground, in the booths, pulling levers and back home in very little time. Your problem is that you can't do that.

When I voted early on Thursday, a mother wanted me to take her and her daughter's photo in front of the "I voted!" sign. I'm just going to focus on that.

electionresults.virginia.gov for anyone else nervous. The important precincts aren't in yet, so it's too early to call. It's looking better for Obama than Kaine though.

Allen will do what McDonnell did: get in based on jobs, jobs, jobs, economy, and then just focus on abortion when he gets in. McDonnell has done fork all else except screw with teachers.

My precinct is pretty much 87% Romney/Allen.
