Day two and still no time! I hate that it's in November and stuff always happens at work. I'm going to get on the ball tonight after dinner and plug away this weekend.

I'm having trouble juggling NaNo with 9 hour days at work, but I'm happy to be writing and hoping to catch up my word count on my days off!

I just signed up for NaNoWriMo... better late than never. I have absolutely no idea what to write about, so I'd better get my asparagus into gear! This should be fun. :-)

Nano began on my first day of vacation, and I had to put my foot down, so I won't be doing it this year (and feel very, very relieved, since the usual November storm of translations has already begun). Have fun, nannies!!

This is becoming less of a novel writing than plot/character generating month for me. Which is actually great. I have written a few scenes.

Around 1700 words today. November is my writing frenzy month!
In addition to adding some more bulk to my novel this month to work through/edit the riffraff through the early months of the New Year, I also have two short pieces on the go. One is a literary short story that I wrote a few months back and just needs some editing and polishing to finish it off so that's pretty well set. The second is a creative non-fiction piece I thought up in the middle of the night Monday night and I got up Tuesday morning and started working on it as soon as I finished my Nano words (in November, novel contributions comes first, other writing can be done after that's out of the way). Anyway, I'm on the fence about whether it's going to work, it kind of looks like the answer might be no right now, but I am excited about it and it's fun to do a bit of delving back into the past. I should know by the end of the week if it's a workable idea or I need to throw in the towel. I'm hoping it works, of course. I need to finish both these smaller projects by the end of November, too. I wish I could give up my paying job and devote all my time to my creative writing, really!

Well, I went on a character frenzy last night, coming up with all sorts of ideas for background stories and ways to deepen the plot. Later, I'm gonna type up a storm on my new laptop.

1919 words today.
I didn't write anything new yesterday but reviewed my whole manuscript thus far and am pleased with the direction it's taking. A TON more work to go and I mean A TON but progress is being made! I hope to have the story somewhat solidly forged out and a solid draft to work from by spring 2013 and see what needs to be done from there but I'm taking December off. That's the plan right now.

I've reached 3,000 words and I'm going to aim to hit 10,000 by the end of Monday.

I'm at 12,600 currently. I will catch up to whatever Sunday's word count is tomorrow. I swear to something. I am determined.

If I keep up with my current pace I'll catch up in a couple days. I hope I can write a bit extra this week. I'd like to have a cushion for Thanksgiving weekend, but I'm not sure that will happen. Is it terribly rude if I am like, SORRY GRANDMA GOTTA WRITE MY SHITTY NOVEL!

1800 words today and around 1900 yesterday (thereabouts).
I dunno what my overall total is, but I think my novel's at around 50,000 words again all told. (I'm not officially in Nano so not keeping a specific count for this month, just riding on your inspirations izall). I'm gonna keep going for now. The story's not done (not nearly!) and I want a lot of material to work with because a lot's gonna be cut when I do my slash and burn in the New Year.

Hit 20000 last night! Hoping to keep building a buffer and I really really want to finish this story this month because I've got another big story I need to write a rough draft of for end of February after and I don't want the last third of this story hanging over my head.

My goal today is gonna be 2000 words. But let's see how that works out. I have a good thing going on with two main characters who are falling in love.
