Yeah, I saw that notification...I have print copies of both and I was confused because I haven't made much out of the old one but I really didn't think the new one looked THAT familiar. But I'm still too lazy to actually compare the table of contents.

Has anyone made recipes out of this one cookbook yet? If so, what did you think of them?

I've made a few -- I think I've already posted in this thread when I made them. :)

Love this book! I am so busy and tired right now and the Crock-Pot is saving me. I've made the Brunswick Bean Stew so far, which was delicious, and have the white chili going right now. I'm going to make the Pantry Raid Chili and the black bean soup this week too.

I would love to get this one when I have some extra cash (ha... haha). I love using the slow cooker.

This is on my "want" list. I'm going to keep an eye on dishes you all post about until I can justify adding another cookbook!

Made the pantry raid chili tonight. Love the name and loved the recipe -- dead easy and perfect when you have almost no ingredients. Can't believe how complex it tasted -- slow cookers rule!

Me again. Made the pantry raid chili again because it's so easy and fabulous. But I'm posting to recommend the Ethiopian lentil and tempeh stew. When I put it together I thought it would be just okay, but it was DELICIOUS. Make it! Super easy and so so so good over rice. I used the Berbere spice option. Couldn't stop eating it.

I was just given a slow cooker (for free!) from a family friend, and I was thinking about buying this book. Glad to hear there are some gems in it!

Ryan got this for me for Christmas! Best husband ever! I didn't even ask for it, he just read reviews on Amazon & compared with what I already had on my cookbook shelf.
I'll soon be posting reviews!

I got this one for Crimbus too. I used her other slow cooker book a ton when I first went vegetarian a few years ago. Excited!

The North African chickpea soup is really good. I modified it for stovetop. If anyone's interested, I followed the normal instructions until the slow cooker part, then 30 minutes simmer on medium, and I cut the veggie broth by 2 cups. And I used heaping measurements for all the spices, since Robin's recipes tend to be lightly seasoned for my tastes.

I made the Sweet & Smoky Seitan Ribs (at least I think that's the name) tonight. They turned out really, really well. I used bottled bbq sauce to keep things easy, and it was really really quick to throw together. The hardest part was finding a good sized baking dish - I had to go a little smaller to fit it into my 7qt slow cooker, but whatever. I thought they were delicious, the texture of the seitan turned out great, nice and dense, and the spice level was just right - a hint of spiciness but not distracting. They're my favorite homemade ribs, I think!!

Had the Indonesian Noodle Soup (laska) tonight for dinner. It was sour, sweet (but not too sweet), and a little spicy. It was so good we ate all of it between the both of us.

I have 2 new crockpots - 1.5q and 4q. I need to just jump in and make something. I tend to buy kitchen stuff and then I am too scared to try them. I have yet to try my pressure cooker and my waffle iron. I will not let these get dusty - I will use them all in 2013!
I have this book and should just make whatever the book opens up to!

I use this book all the time -- I haven't had anything bad from it yet. Get a slow cooker, you'll love it! :) I have 3. It's the thing that I added onto our wedding registry "just because" and it's definitely my favorite appliance.

I love my slow cooker but only have a couple vegan recipes - so obviously I need this book. But slow cookers are probably the handiest thing ever.

A nice slow cooker is my "default" wedding gift...if one isn't already on the registry, they're getting one from me. It seems to be the one thing most new brides have no idea they need. They're so handy, especially if you both work.
