I want to hang a towel bar in my kitchen to hold little plastic buckets full of silverware. Do I have to anchor it to a stud or can I use those plastic drywall anchors?
If I have to hit a stud, is there a trick to finding it without the detector?
Thanks!

Buckets full of silverware would certainly need a stud, I would think. Drywall is not very strong. You can tap the wall- it sound hollow when you're just on drywall, but different (heavier)? when you locate a stud. I'm not sure how else to explain that; sorry! But it works!
