I got an invite. I wish Pinterest didn't automatically make me follow a bunch of stuff I don't care about!

So when you follow someone, sometimes it automatically follows a bunch of other people for you, but if you go to their page, it doesn't say you're following them, and so you can't unfollow them. Anyone know any secrets around this crepe? I'm tired of seeing these nasty "dump a box hamburger helper and a can of mountain dew into a crockpot" recipes.

Yeah, that happened to me, too. It turns out that you can follow individual shelves without following the person those shelves belong to. If you click on the thing that you don't want to see, it should say underneath it what shelf it is from, and there will be a button there to unfollow it.

(my dumbpants started a thread in the foyer because I fail at searching forums.)

I like pinterest though. It's a good way to search for stuff. I use it more for bookmarking/reference. And to give bloggers I like more exposure, so more people can enjoy thier awesome recipes/patterns/ideas/art etc.

Thanks! I need to get on Pinterest more. Honestly, I am super bored at work, and looking at recipes makes me SUPER hungry haha. And I only pin recipes that I would make, since pinterest is really a resource for myself.

I have a craft board too that I like. And a crochet one. Need to get to pinning.

Oops! When I first started, I had only one board (Vegan Noms), so when people started following me, they were only getting food stuff. I just decided to expand to three boards - I split the food into Vegan Noms Savory and Sweet, and added a board to keep track of ideas for my new house - so if you followed me at first rather than just the Vegan Noms board you may inadvertently start getting sofas and shiitake. My apologies for this. Feel free to unfollow!

I pin a lot of stuff all the time, but only stuff I really want to make. I don't think I'll ever get around to make all of them, but I have tried a lot so far.

I figured this thread was back up, since I just got like 4 new followers in a row.

I probably make 10% of the stuff I pin. Sometimes it'll be months later. I don't just pin with random abandon though. They are things that I think I'll want to make eventually.
