Don't let the 'steak' strips fool you...They tasted better than they look! Homemade dough, sauce, marinated strips, salsa + cilantro and hot sauce!

They do kind of look like worms. But I can imagine it was delicious! What did you marinate them in.

They look like hair balls to me...I use the good ol' lemon and Mexican spices to marinate the strips.

Love it! What did you use for the strips? Carne asada was actually the last meat I ever ate.

I did not even notice that. :/ It looks scary. I actually have severe anxiety about bugs in my food. I know those are spices though!

I was all like "it looks really tasty! I'd totally eat that!" until you pointed this out. Now I'm more like "um, I think there is a slug on your pizza."

I'm sorry for ruining your thread! I thought it looked pretty tasty until I saw that. I could photoshop the eye out for you? I kinda suck at photo editing, though, so I'm not sure it would be an improvement.

It's ok missmuffcake, it still looks delicious, I just feel a need to rescue the "slug" and set it out in the garden before biting into the pizza now! It's kind of cute actually.

This thread should go into the "I'm so vegan" thread. I'm so vegan, I won't eat something that I know is vegan but looks vaguely like a critter.

Although for the record, I would eat the shiitake out of that pizza, missmuffcake, "slug" strip or no "slug" strip. I actually don't know what carne asada is, but that looks like pieces of spicy sausage to me. It looks sooooooo good!
