Kara and Boober! YAY FOR YOU BOTH! That is so fantastic!
And beats the hell out of my best thing, but oh well.
I just spent something like five hours (slightly more?) cleaning the ever loving fork out of my apartment. It really, really needed it. I'm talking deep-clean here. It hasn't been this clean since before the start of the school year, and honestly, probably not since the beginning of the summer, after the way I shut down while dealing with depression stuff during the summer.
On the down side, I didn't get nearly as much grading/school work done as I wanted to, but this really, really needed to happen. Being in my apartment was so toxic. The mess was so overwhelming--and so not like me--that it was just making me so miserable every time I was home. This was so necessary for my mental health. I feel so much better and ready to tackle some of my remaining stuff (though not as much as I would like, I'll admit, because I have to get to bed on time).
Hooray for Trader Joe's cleaning fluid and a cat who follows me around "helping!"

DarthCupcake: I totally know what you mean about cleaning. I've been trying to keep my apartment tidier, and it has done a world of good for my mood. I still have a couple of rooms to deep clean and organize, but I don't go home feeling like I live in a hateful hole of decrepitness.

I'm finishing up in my job at the end of next week and being transferred to a different hospital!!! Since I am on sick leave I don't have to set foot in there again! I won't be at risk for working with the creep again!

Thank you! I won't! It is completely different service.... different staff and management. The only chance I would have of seeing him again is if I was shopping in the town where I USED to work! Eeeeek! I now get to say "used to!"

I think my post would be huge if I kept going so, a general "whoopee!" for everyone (yep, I said 'whoopee'...)
I got a call at work today from a local cupcake place saying my business card was drawn and I won 6 free mini cupcakes! Fridays they do vegan cupcakes, so I sent a message making sure I could use it then...so excited! This week was really not going well (see the worst things thread), so this is the best pick-me-up. Excited!

Lots of love and congratulations from everyone at work today. My store team leader told me he was proud of me, which is the best compliment I've ever heard him give anyone. It beats the time he told me he notices how hard I work all the time and said he appreciates everything I do for the store. He's not the type to give out undeserved praise, so this means so so so much.
