I feel a bit bad/guilty. I was talking to my aunt about perfume and mentioned a special Chanel scent I've been dying to smell (it's boutique only) and she had a sample sent to me--those tiny samples sell for a fortune! Yeeks. I gotta be careful what I say. Very sweet of her, but that much for an itty bitty sample makes me feel queasy.
It's really lovely--smokey and fresh at the same time. Now I want a bottle.

Your aunt obviously loves you and likes to do things for you that make you happy. Don't feel bad that someone cares for you, as hard as it is to not feel guilty!

Give it a sniff when you're feeling down and need a pick-me-up, and wear it for very, very special occasions. It will last a long time, giving you long term satisfaction, and letting you feel good that it was worth it. And your aunt will be happy to know that you're enjoying it!

I also get kind of uncomfortable when someone spends money on me, so I understand--but it's an expression of affection. I try to remember that if I got a gift like that for someone, I'd want them to enjoy it, not feel bad.

I bought so much stuff today. I went into Target for curtains and allergy meds and a few random food items. I also came out with Christmas decorations, pajamas, 2 pairs of leggings, a blazer, and a button down shirt.

I thought I was gross for doing this. I just really hate changing socks when I'm cold. And in the winter I am always cold.

Those get washed constantly, but everything else is "as needed."
Except sheets: I have to have fresh sheets. Very unenvironmental of me, but I change bed linens near daily. Less since now my mom has to help since its hard because of my back issues. I'm such a slob with sheets. I don't even remember the last time we washed them. Actually, I tend to fall asleep on the couch with a duvet and don't even end up using sheets. Yup, I'm gross!

My cousin's nanowrimo is so super painful. I must read it and use it to launch conversation. I've been begged to communicate with him and it's kind of hard and sporadic. I love him dearly and have loads of fond memories of him as a child, but he has Aspergers and tends to write one sentence emails days or weeks apart that leave me stumped. I'm not sure how to draw him out or if he even wants me to, though the fact that he randomly writes back makes me think he does. I'm also not sure what his struggles are; nobody likes to discuss it, but I gather being uncommunicative is part of it.
I don't know much about Asbergers. The few students I have had have not seemed any different to me than any bright, quiet kid in terms of needed support.

AHHHH you guys I'm so excited! I'm feeding dinner to my a cappella group tomorrow night! I've been cooking all weekend so I won't have to worry about it tomorrow, so I currently have a whole big Indian food feast just hanging out in containers in my kitchen. I have made: saag paneer, channa masala, dal makhni, tamarind chutney, red onion chutney, and chai spice cookies. I've been looking forward to this for MONTHS and I'm so excited I'm like bouncing off the walls and I really hope everyone likes all this food and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh I'm so excited.

Basically everything in this apartment smells like cardamom right now. It's like I've died and gone to cardamom heaven.

Oh wow, see I have to change socks, not because I think it's gross if you wear stuff more than one day. but my socks start to feel a bit... moist... by the end of they day.
*shudders*

I barely ever sweat because I'm always so cold. I only need to wash my hair about once a week, and usually even that feels like overkill. I am a very cold person!

Ah see, becauseof the medication I'm on I sweat a good bit. If I am working I sweat so much that I have to shower and change all my underwear at the end of the work day. Anything that lies next to my skin ends needs to be changed at least daily.

*shudders* My feet sweat a lot too, I'd have stinky socks if I went more than a day without changing them. I'll wear jeans & skirts for weeks before washing them, and shirts more than once if they pass the sniff test.

Everything that is worn against my skin is washed after one wear. Outer layers, jeans, dresses, skirts get maybe two wears, three tops, before washing. I can't really deal with dry clean only stuff as it never feels properly clean to me. Towels every other day. Bed linen every week. Hair every third day.
