Or go find them in a store and try them on? My lower legs are actually the only part of me that's skinny, but I have tweety bird ankles and muscular calves, and when I did P90X last year I stretched out all of my knee socks. Boots that don't have some kind of adjustability to them are always a no no for me, either they squeeze my calves or the ankle area is huge.

I got two pairs of boots last year from Lane Bryant that are faux suede. One pair is short and the other are supposed to be tall scrunchy looking boots. They don't go up all the way on me but because they are scrunchy anyway I can get away with it. Other than that I haven't found any tall boots that will fit my calves that are vegan. The Avenue has a ton of tall boots that come in extra wide calf sizes, but I think they are all leather.
Do you like the Toms wrap boots? I really want a pair, but I'm afraid by the time I'm done wrapping them they will only come up to mid calf on me if that. Really wish I could try those on in person but I haven't found any place that carries them near me.

Pretty clothes!
LazySmurf, you can also check Jessica London, Catherines, Fashion Bug, Torrid, Avenue, and Old Navy. I found cute faux leather boots at Torrid last year, but they didn't fit my huge calves!

My local Lane Bryants don't carry boots so I ordered a box full (6 pair) online in the hopes that one of them would fit. Now I have not been able to fit into a pair of knee-high boots since college (1984, clothing size 12) so my expectations were not great. But I found TWO pair! YES!! Two of the newer Lane Bryant boots for this fall that I can shimmy into. Now of course there's no fitting the pants or bulky socks into them but I can get a pair of thin leggings in and still zip them up. I can always return the other pairs to a store for full credit without having to pay return shipping. Here are links to the two pair that worked for my size 9, 19 inch calf circumference: This pair is the most comfortable but they do slouch a bit but I don't care, I can zip them and that's really all I was going for. http://www.lanebryant.com/stretch-calf- ... 20selectedThis pair is the tightest but I can zip them. http://www.lanebryant.com/back-zip-ridi ... 20selectedThe other pairs were hopeless. Could not fit over a 19 inch calf.

I really like that first pair! Good job, I'm glad they worked for you. I'll have to check my local store and see if they have them in stock to try on.

Chicago gals, Vive la Femme is one of my favorite plus-sized stores. They don't sell online but if you're in the area or visiting Chicago, it could be worth the trip. Boutique quality and prices, not cheap stuff akin to Lane Bryant so this is the place to buy that special thing. Maybe not the place to buy everything. Stephanie carries a lot of exclusives from various designers and often gets first pick of some collections. I bought the coolest coat this fall and I just LOVE it. Here's a link to her blog post that shows the navy coat with creme embroidered flowers and bright orange trim at the bottom of the left column: http://vivelafemme.com/2012/09/14/layer ... in-frocks/She posts each week's deliveries by Friday on their Facebook page. With her help, I'm slowly adding color to my old goth wardrobe. Not that there's anything wrong with black, but sometimes you just want a little color. Added: Sometimes she has fashion parties to present a designer's latest and sometimes Lush brings products in to try as well.

Any ideas for subtle vegan message shirts that are plus size, but somewhat fitted and cute, not those big unisex ones?

I can't wear any of my Herbivore stuff any more. My bunny hoody tee is a large, but won't even begin to fit now that I'm a 10.

I say we come up with our own designs and put them on Zazzle. I'm so tired of not being able to have a decent kale shirt :-(

Sooo excited! I know I'm late to the fashion party, being a lazy sweatpants bum/former 80s goth, but I just ordered my first two dresses from eShakti! Crossing my eyes that they fit. Now that I have knee-high boots, I can wear dresses and skirts again without exposing the cankles ;-}
Almost bought the navy blue one they had on overstock too but I honestly don't understand navy blue. What kind of jacket would one wear with navy blue? Or shoes? Or purse? ***confusion***

What kind of boots are you looking for? For sort of dressy boots, I like the Novacas Alta that come up about midcalf: http://www.mooshoes.com/index.php?produ ... &color=BlkI just bought an awesome pair of cowboy boots at JC Penney's. They come up to high calf and they are generous enough that I can get them on easily even though they have no zipper. Can't vouch for the rest of their boots. http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/handbags ... rchResultsFor winter boots, it's Hunter all the way.

My favorites with navy are bright greens, rich but not-too-dark purples and yellows from mustardy gold to bright yellow. Reds, pinks, white, creams, lighter browns are always winners too. Maybe two of those items in a more neutral and one in a bright pop of color. Good luck!!

Hi all,
are there shops in Amsterdam specialising in plus size fashion for women? Casual and Business clothings. Would be great if some of you girls have experience shopping in such retailers?
Thanks!
