I recently moved to the USA and I am wondering what you eat for breakfast!
I already discovered (affordable!) vegan cream cheese and I love looove the different kind of nut butters...but I used to eat a lot of different spreads at home, like Tartex, Zwergenwiese and I miss them so much! And cream cheese and oatmeal start to get boring :(
I would be glad to hear what you eat and get some inspiration :)

bagels or toast. Very boring. I am soaking some black beans and thinking of making some gallo pinto and having that with some avacado for a change :)

depending on the season, i have smoothies, homemade toast with marmelade or marmite, oatmeal.... or more often, leftovers.
when i have my shiitake together, it's beans on toast- which is the best thing to keep me snarling hungry all morning. The problem is that I have to make the beans. Gallo pinto is a favorite in my house and doesn't last very long or i would eat that!

Do you have a food processor? It's very easy to make those Zwergenwiese sunflower seed spreads from scratch. I have some recipes on my blog. But you basically just have to puree some sunflower seeds, oil and/or water and add the spices you like.

instant oatmeal and a gallon of coffee, every morning. I am fancier when not in school, I have even been known to make the occasional waffle on days off, but I have so little time in the mornings that most days I'm making and eating the oatmeal while in class.

my most exciting breakfast during the semester is when I have a few extra dollars and I can grab a bagel with vegan cream cheese w/ vegetables.

this is not helpful, but I just wanted to express boring breakfast solidarity

You can have nut butters on your toast or bagel: peanut, almond, cashew hazelnut etc. I make my own, so I have lots of variety, including roasted pumpkin seed, hazelnut-chocolate and sweet vanilla sunflower butter.

Maybe try noochy toast? It's toast spread with margarine and nutritional yeast sprinkled over it.

I would hate not having Tartex though :-(. There have been attempts at a home-made version: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=19450&p=515167&hilit=tartex#p515167.

I eat oatmeal almost every day this time of the year. I mix it up to keep it from getting boring though. Apples, bananas, pumpkin and raisins, pears, and frozen berries are all in rotation.

Same as kilgore- oatmeal with stuff in.
I've been putting a diced date or two in before I cook it and it's awesome... if you like sweet stuff.

Usually a smoothie. I don't care for 'meals' much in the morning or toast.

I stick with basic grain-based boring breakfasts: english muffin, toast, cereal, oatmeal, etc. Quick and easy.

If I have time, I loooove things with protein... tofu scramble breakfast burritos, just tofu scramble, beans on toast, gallo pinto!

boring cereal + soymilk on work mornings.....

fresh oatmeal on the weekends with raisins and flaxmeal.... however there was a post awhile back about people mixing their oatmeal ingredients together (soy milk + oats) in the fridge overnight, all the liquid would absorb, and then you could just eat it cold or heat it up in the microwave in the morning....

Is the Tartex sold in the US not vegan? I am not even sure what it is, but I have seen it.

week/work days: Always coffee, and either cereal with banana or toast with almond butter and banana. I love bananas in the morning.
weekends: always coffee, and something warm and savory. It's usually some combination of tofu scramble, roasted potatoes, cornmeal waffles from Vegan Brunch (topped with tofu scramble - excellent!), toast with nutritional yeast and margarine.

I always have oatmeal with a spoonful peanut butter, a mashed banana, and a drizzle of almond milk. Keeps me full well into my day. If I had time, I'd make tofu scramble loaded with veggies every other morning, and maybe put it into a wrap with salsa.

Quick tofu scramble (just tofu and a sprinkle of black salt) on whole grain toast, and tea. Lotsa tea.

Steel cut/large flake oatmeal with dried bananas and peanut butter or apples/raisins and cinnamon -- always precooked or soaked for quick morning meal.

get yourself a small slow cooker (1 liter/quart) and make different kinds of oatmeal (steel cut oats) over night. Here's a link to Kathy Hester's blog and her many oatmeal recipes are the best. I never tire of them.

I do yoga or dance right after I eat so I don't want to fill heavy or full. I usually eat a Luna Fiber bar and a warm cup of tea to get my body ready!

Coffee. Maybe a cliff or Luna bar. Yup...I really need to eat better. My daughter loves soy yogurt with a bit of granola and fruit (usually banana or berries). I make my husband breakfast burritos to bring to work. Tofu scramble with spinach, black olives, mushrooms, black beans, salsa, and vegan sour cream.
