Sliced bread. You know that expression: "The greatest thing since sliced bread"? Yeah, sliced bread really isn't all that.
Pffft. Every single time I buy a loaf of bread and get the people at the store to slice it I just think "this is the greatest"
Me too! Those machines are forking awesome.
Yes. Being left handed means slicing bread yourself is miserable. Serrated bread knives just don't work. I can't slice bread to save my life.

Daniel Craig. I don't get his appeal and I don't find him to be that great of an actor.
You didn't! Don't diss the Craig! The eyes. The smirk. And, you've seen him coming out of the water in Casino Royale, right? Ok, I'll be off swooning in the corner.

I've only seen a bit of one ep, but I don't think I'd like it. And you reminded me of a major one for me: FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDS - it's shiitake.
Also, Lady Gaga and 50 Shades of Grey.

People travel across the country to eat there. They'll pay $50+ to have an In-N-Out burger made, refrigerated and overnighted to their doorstep. When a new one opens up, people will wait in line for HOURS just for a hamburger. I simply do not understand. Oh, and the McRib...who eats that stuff?
Yeah, even in Aus we've heard of In-N-Out and their secret menus and when I mentioned to a non-vegan friend that I would be visiting the USA she was like "Oh no, you won't be able to go to In-N-Out!!" :/

I go there maybe once every other month when I'm broke because it's like $3.00 for a veggie sandwich and fries and right next to my apartment. Gotta do ketchup & mustard instead of spread to make it vegan, too.

I really dislike threads like this because I'd much rather see the Living Room used for geeking out about stuff instead of shitting all over things. Plus, it totally deflates the boner I have for some of you.
But what evs. Carry on, haters.

Haters gonna hate. Also: chocolate covered strawberries. Like, they're good, but to throw money at them when you could make it at home easy, no. They're not tastier because someone else dipped them (heh).

Oh, respectfully disagree.
I loved "The Believer," "Lars and the Real Girl," "Blue Valentine," "Crazy, Stupid Love," "Drive" and "The Ides of March." I even really enjoyed "The Notebook." Yeah, I'm man enough to say it.
Drive is so overrated! Seriously, I thought it was ok, but a bit pretentious. And everyone I know thinks it a work of genius.
You thought it was pretentious? How so? It's not like they were spouting existential philosophy. I loved it. It reminded me of Taxi Driver.

I think Taxi Driver is a fine film, it has layers and depth of plot and characters, while I felt like Drive was flat and was just trying to look like it had depth through certain tricks. The characters really lacked development. The soundtrack was way too in-your-face which is always a red flag for me with movies that are trying too hard to be perceived as amazing.

Dave Mathews Band, video games, college, Christmas, exercise, Saturday Night Live, lots of movies, political comedy shows, the American dream and probably a million other things.

i don't hate him, and i don't think his writing is awful, but i don't think it's exceptional, either. i've read most of his work, and he's been part of roughly 473 literary events i've attended around the city over the past couple of years, so if i were going to understand why the literary community insists on slobbering all over him, it would have happened by now. but i really think he's just not that awesome.

I think the thing is that he has a sense of humor. I didn't see the appeal either until I realized that.
Ok, I have to admit to loving Keanu Reeves, horrible, wooden acting and all. Point Break! I have an unreasonable amount of love for that movie, and it doesn't all involve Patrick Swayze.
I didn't watch the pretend to be high schoolers cop movie, but I've seen him in Step up & that nicholas sparks movie. Maybe I'm oblivious to the humor? In any case, I liked him in the movies, but he did come across slightly wooden. If that makes sense.

I'm going to add "Moonrise Kingdom" to the things that I find terribly overrated. My friend, who is a Wes Anderson fanboy, dragged me to see it and I can't ever remember being so bored in a movie-going experience. Maybe I'm just a knuckle-dragging* naif.
