Tonight, I attempt to make a pumpkin pie from scratch.

Or, at least, the filling. I copped out and bought a graham crust from the store.

I have never done this. Will I be crushed under the weight of my impending failure? Will I be lifted to some heavenly plateua on the wings of culinary victory? Will I end up in the middle of the road with some middling result? WE SHALL SEE.

Right now, I have pureed a pumpkin and an ambercup squash. I will report back once things start moving along (I'm also baking ~4 dozen cookies).

You can do it! I just made pumpkin pie tonight for the first time too and it actually worked! I did the one from the Voluptuous Vegan that was featured on the PPK blog.

You can do it! Pumpkin pie is pretty easy, as far as baking goes.

It's super easy! I grew my own pie pumpkins and made pumpkin pie from scratch one year for Thanksgiving and it was the best pumpkin pie I've ever had.

I did this one, too, added an ambercup squash to make up for a pumpkin shortage, and plopped it all in a couple store-bought graham cracker crusts. It's currently in the oven with (I think) 16 minutes to go. How long do y'all bake yours for? The full 60 minutes? I'm nervous.

I used to work there, and I'm in pretty often, mostly on the weekends. Nice.

So... The pies look fine, aside from the condensation issue. I covered them and put them in the fridge too soon, I think. It's all the same going down.
