Anyone ever eat at Lalibela for Ethiopian? I think it is awesome. I heard there is another one in town - do you know about it?
Also, Green is still awesome.
Chill was cool because they had vegan gelato but now they are closed. :(
Anything else awesome in Tempe? We are visiting for the holidays.

I've never been to Lalibela--I always go to Blue Nile (Rural & University) because it's so super vegan-friendly. I just went, though, and the food was a lot more meh than what I'm used to. Will have to try Lalibela. There is a new mostly-vegan vegetarian restaurant right next to Lalibela called Tsom. Udupi used to be the best thing about Tempe and the entire Phoenix metro area, but they're having financial troubles and are closed for now (I'm terrified that it's permanent). If Udupi is open when you come, please go there and spend tons of money. You can check their website at www.udupicafeaz.com (they used to have the menu and contact information on the site, so that would be a sign they're back in business).

I forgot about Updupi! We had some amazing crazy bread there. Not sure what it was called. I only got to eat there once though! I haven't tried Blue Nile yet, I will have to do that. Thanks!

I have good news and bad news for you. Bad news: Udupi is closed, or so I'm told. Good news is Chill has a new location! I believe it's Southern & McClintock by Nellos, but don't quote me on that. Definitely check it out, it's a much bigger space and a lot cozier. Last time we ate our ice cream in big fuzzy chairs and watched True Lies. It was awesome. Also, never been to Laibelia, but love both Blue Nile & Tsom. That whole area is just so vegan friendly.

But Woodlands is still open in nearby west Chandler. A lot of the same type of yummy Udupi like food. If you have transportation, try to get to Pomegranate and 24 Carrots (also in the same area as Woodlands). Cornish Pasty on University and Hardy usually has a couple of vegan pastys too. The night I went they didn't, but the pastys looked awesome.

I will be back in Tempe for Thanksgiving, but not in time to cook anything. I am thinking about buying a ready made meal, like Green's Thanksliving to go. Any other local suggestions?

The Green thanksgiving meal is HIGHLY recommended. I'm probably going to have to do Green takeout this year, too. Pomegranate Cafe does a thankgiving thing, too but I've not tried it. I think 24 carrots probably does it too.

Thanks, nickvicious. Do you know if the Green thanksliving meal has a fake meat? I am trying to decide whether or not to have my mom cook a tofurky or not.

I'm going to Green tomorrow! The pecan pie looks awesome, so I'm already excited for dessert. I saw 24 Carrots' menu on their FB page and it's ($22!) all GF and I'm sure it's delicious. Didn't see Pom's menu, though.

I tried the pecan pie last year and didn't like it as much as the pumpkin. Very sweet. I might do 24C this year. They're only 2 miles up the road.

I think 24C was only open yesterday for Thanksgiving, but I could be wrong. I'm so excited for their move because they'll be even closer than they are now. Bummer, the pecan looked awesome- they had it at Nami all week.

I had a yummy meal from Green! I especially loved the brussel sprouts - they were super delicious.

Yes! Those brussels sprouts were insane! And I liked the pecan pie because it was so sweet.
