I had to cut my menu down a little as my mom got SUPER emotional about my veganizing beloved family traditions like my great grandmother's potato rolls and her peach stuffing, so rather than pick a fight, I skipped those!

In the picture above is Kabocha squash and fennel bisque (adapted from the Lucques cookbook), mushroom gravy, my mama's spicy cranberry chutney, Tunisian beet slaw, "Lotus flower" salad (endives, pears, red onion, pecans, arugula and a special amazing cider dressing), Brussels sprouts roasted with citrus and molasses and finished with pomegranates and pistachios, heirloom tomatoes with fresh dill, and my famous pumpkin pie in a hazelnut paste lined crust... Not pictured smashed purple potatoes :)

Image

cream pie of the pie! It was served with whipped maple coconut cream! The omnis devoured it and begged to take the leftovers with them. (I let them! Spread the good word with pie!)

Image

Lotus flower salad! (I think this was my favorite part of the meal. I forking love salad.)

Image

Seitan roulade with fig and chestnut stuffing. Everyone loved this! Someone even said, "I'm officially a Seitanist if this is what that's all about!"

I wish I had taken more photos, but I'm stoked on how everything turned out.

Everything looks so tasty, and that salad is almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

@kittee It is AMAZING my mom makes it with fresh summer peaches that she freezes, cornbread, jalapenos and sausage... It's a little maple-y, a little spicy, SUPER savory, and I will figure it out even if she won't give me her recipe on the principle that she thinks it will never be good without the sausage. The vegans will inherit the earth! Err, stuffing ;-)

The salad is so good! I went with a vision I had in a dream and made this really tasty creamy apple cider dressing that blew my mind.

Everything is beautiful, but especially the salad! And your peach stuffing sounds amazing. I must try making something like that.

All my best ideas for recipes come to me in dreams :) Actually, most of my best ideas come to me in dreams! Or, as I'm having weird emotional unleashings in intense yoga poses.

I'd love to have you all over for dinner. My favorite moments in life are watching other people eat my food. (Maybe I'm secretly a grandma!)
