My uncle was transferred to hospice care today. The finality of it is crushing. I'm so so sad.

You know how floord are talked about in terms of probably frequency, like 10-yr flood, 30-yr flood, etc?

This is a 5-yr period. I mean, cramps are cramps and can really suck and hurt, but they don't usually make me cry. And they aren't predictable so I can't anticipate the waves of pain. Codeine isn't touching these at all and hot water bottle is barely helping. I dont want to take another muscle relaxer since I took one this morning and set all day, but I might have to.

Ow. Seriously. And, I need salty chocolate.

Last night, my beloved boyfriend got home late, a bit drunk (which wouldn't have bothered me at all were it not for the following) and on his way home picked up a bottle of wine because I asked him to. He bought one with the word "gelatine" clearly written in the ingredients so I said I won't have any. He then proceeded to mentally break down about how difficult I am and how he bought one we "always buy" (we never have, because it contains gelatine) and how I am evidently really upset about it. He had an hour-long sulk, telling me I was overreacting. Apparently, I said "I won't have any" a bit snappily or something, but in his mind I was crapping on the floor with rage at him. What I was actually doing was making him some food and myself a cup of tea. I explained that I, too, sometimes buy the wrong thing and I get annoyed with myself but I wouldn't get annoyed with him in the same way because these things happen and never mind. He just drunkenly wailed "I've failed you!" and kept saying he'd go back and change it because I had my heart set on wine that evening and therefore my evening was ruined.

I ended up having to comfort him about something that didn't happen, because there are times when shaking someone and shouting "Look at yourself! You are being ridiculous!" would be more trouble than it was worth.

Oh, studio. That is so hard. I am really sorry.

I'm getting increasing.y anxious about my MRI results. Probably as much because I've never had good results from an MRI than any real, huge concern.

LW, sending many good thoughts for your MRI. I hope that whatever has been going on recovers and that you can go bwck to walking and exercising painfree. You have been through so much, even just in the time I've known you, and I hope you catch a break. You're really inspiring for carrying on the way you do, in the face of chronic pain.

Oh, we'll I'm never going to be able to walk pain free; that just isn't in the cards. I just don't want things getting worse now (they will eventually).

I am hoping I can start the water aerobics up next month, if I can afford it. Need these results first.

I want to ride my bike in the Spring/Summer and I want to do fun things, but I'm afraid I won't be able to and will have to just sell it. It seems really petty, but I desperately wanted to go ride roller,coasters over Halloween at Kings Dominion, but couldn't bcause its a long drive and they wont let you reserve mobile carts in advance. I'm tired of limitations that I'm not good at working around. Other people are much better at this.

I feel like sometimes I don't really try hard enough because I don't have a real motivation.

Mine's minor, but my paternal grandparents are going to India at the end of this week and not coming back. Dadu is 87 and really showing his age this year. I'm currently on a plane back to LA an having a hard time convincing myself I didn't just drink the last cup of tea he'll ever make me.

I'm super lucky that the worst thing about my day was the amount of dishes I used to make dinner and will have to wash tomorrow.

Eeks. Doing mountains of dishes absolutely qualifies for this thread.

Oof, good to know! Especially since I just did a casserole, but I needed a sheet pan to roast the squash, a pot to boil noodles and kale plus a colander to drain, a pan to sautee onion and garlic, a small pot to mix the sauce, a bowl to mix it all in since the pasta pot wasn't big enough (bad planning on my part) and finally the casserole itself, never mind the utensils and all the pans and bowls left from early today making muffins. I refuse to even think about doing them tonight.... At least dinner was frigging delicious and the omni hubby enjoyed it too.

I'm so sorry. I'm glad he had a peaceful passing. I am hoping the same for my sister.

I spent the day with my sister and there are moments when she is there mentally, but not many. She woke up when my other sister brought her son and when my parents brought her dog. I love that the hospital will let them bring the dog because it cheers her up. Other than that, she slept and kept making sounds, so I know she's in pain. I don't want her to be in pain anymore, but I don't want her to leave.

After I went to the hospital, I went to my parents' house and took their cat because my sister's dog has been staying there and stressed the cat out so much she has huge bald patches. I noticed she sounded stuffed up and she's diabetic, so I brought her to the vet to make sure I knew how to give her insulin. I'm so thankful that I have savings for times like this.

Studio, I'm sorry for your loss.

This always seems to be the time of year for losses in the family. Three of my mom's siblings who have died in the past years all died right around this time.

I've decided to spare the general 'worst things' thread all the grossness and take it to the period thread where it belongs. But FORK THIS PERIOD NONSENSE. Gah!
