My coworkers ordered a cake for me from Beans and Barley this week. I didn't realize they did that, but it was chocolate cherry loaded with frosting... delicious!!

I like Wasabi, it's kind of out a bit and a little pricey, but the veggie roll has avocado slices on top like they would do with fish and it is really beautiful.

Thanks for the sushi recommendations. I have another request... My mom, sister and I are going to Cirque du Soliel (sp??) at the Bradley Center this weekend and are planning to have dinner before. I haven't really spent much time downtown, so could someone suggest a few places to check out? Thanks again!!

if you like ethiopian, alem is delicious and the closest thing to downtown that is super vegan-friendly. otherwise there is tons of stuff on the east side, which is close enough in my book, heh.

I might be in Cudahy soon, and I have no idea what's nearby as far as eats go. Any help is massively appreciated!

I live in Cudahy, and I don't think I've ever eaten here since becoming vegan almost 5 years ago! haha. I pretty much only live here, but do everything else in Milwaukee.

Umm...disappointment. Roots was bought/sold and it was supposed to still be awesome. Just looked at the new menu under the new name (Wolf-Peach) and it does not look nearly so vegan friendly.

I was in Milwaukee for a conference a couple months ago. I found plenty of good eats, but it helps to have a car. I stayed at the Hilton and was able to get a pizza place to deliver pizza w/teese and vegan sausage straight to the hotel (had to go down to the lobby)... I'm pretty sure it was Transfer Pizza. This site was super helpful: http://www.veganmilwaukee.com/I also loooooved Palomino, especially the sweet potato tots and seitan and tofu wings. The deep fried riblets w/dipping sauce from Comet Cafe were heavenly, but I didn't like the meatloaf sandwich I got there as much. My experience in Milwaukee (and my brief stints in Columbus and Cinci this past summer) helped confirm for me that Indianapolis is the least vegan-friendly major city in the Midwest (and possibly in the US). Milwaukee people, I'm jealous of your food.
