Anyone found any good mince pies for sale yet? A bit early I know but I love them.
Morrisons did some cheapo lattice ones which were accidentally vegan. Though I couldn't find those last year and went for the OK Foods version, which were expensive and way too sweet.
Any tips?

i'm just gonna make my own. it's become too much trouble trying to find decent ones that don't contain dairy (unless you buy the free-from kinds, which i think are usually meh).

I seem to remember Co-op's being ok. Sainsburys cheapy mince puffs are ok ingredient-wise but I haven't tried any so can't vouch for taste.

I spotted some at Lidl, crazy cheap at £1.80 ish for 12! Ingredients list is long but it looked ok. They taste pretty good too, not overly sugary. and no, not like rat poo either...

Budgens do some accidentally vegan ones (own brand) but they do taste as cheap as they cost. I really like the Sainsbury's free from ones though, they use almond flour in the pastry which I think makes them rather nice!

Yeah I always get the cheapo Lidl ones - they are ok if smothered with lashings of alpro vanilla custard mmmm.
Had some frozen filo in the freezer so made some of my own this year which were yummy. Going to get some puff pastry and make some more by rolling it out, spreading with mincemeat, rolling up, sprinkling with almonds and popping in the oven. Quick, easy and tasty.

So annoyed. I was in Tesco last night and I picked up some mince pies that had the white "V" on them so I popped them into my trolley. Only when I was ripping them open did I see the contains milk. FFS!!! I don't know who I am more angry at: Tesco for mislabelling something as vegan or me for trusting them and not reading the ingredients like I usually do.
So everyone be warned.... Tesco deep filled mince pies aren't vegan.
