Oh that is so cute and gross. Mostly cute. I laughed so hard when a newborn Leela spit up in her Dad's mouth.

A childless friend of ours called Leela "destructive" because she was going after a coaster and trying to grab for glasses. She wasn't trying to be a jerk, it was just funny what a difference in perspective you have once you know a lot of children. I feel like Leela is curious, sure, but about a thousand times easier than so many older toddlers. My 3 year old nephew is a tornado of investigative energy.

yeah, only someone who doesn't know any 3 year olds would call a 1 year old destructive...

Hey, all kids are different! I think the Emperor peaked in destructiveness around 2.5. He's actually getting to the point now (a little after 3) where I can take him to grown up houses primarily inhabited by grown ups and not have to send a note of apology afterwards.
But yeah, I laugh so hard at what some people who don't have kids (and some people who DO have kids!) think is "destructive" or "bad behavior" or whatever. I am laughing at myself here too, because I know there are things I sometimes thought were horrible when E was younger that I've since see him do, or do worse than. Just as no person is never a crasshole, no child is never a tornado of destruction. We all have our moments.

I didn't mean to offend anyone! Just that it was funny what she considered destructive (grabbing for glasses and coasters) which to me is so much less destructive than stuff she does when I'm not hovering over her trying to make sure she doesn't break stuff or tear up paper and eat it or knock stuff over. We all have different standards :)
I completely agree that we all have our moments!

I completely agree that we all have our moments! Sorry if my tone was weird, I'm not even a little offended! I think it is hilarious that your friend thought coaster theft was destructive!

Guineapiglet takes coasters from downstairs and launches them off the stairs and into the living room...I wonder if that's considered destructive

No, you flounce too! More flouncing! We haven't had a good flounce in ages.
*PS: I'm still offended, I'm still leaving. I won't be back. Unless you say anything about me... and maybe even if you don't.*

also, poopie, I was telling solipsistnation about your baking business and the Emperor was like HER NAME IS POOPIE bisque? LIKE POOPIE? HER NAME IS POOPIE? and then he just descended into total hilarity. Then he found out you're the Dalek cookie lady and I guess what I'm saying is he wants to know if you'll adopt him.

In that case, me and my coaster tossing daughter are both going to flounce! In fact she's a super-flouncer who is offended by your offense to her offensive behavior.
Guineapiglet would like me to add that she only tossed one coaster and it was more of a slip but she is still offended. Or is it me who is offended? Oh now I'm a flustered flouncer.

I'm offended by your inaccuracy in labeling your child a coaster thrower. The cruelty!

If not, I'm not sure she's gonna meet her quota that way. Someone actually bought her a baby Tiffany's China set. If it weren't so wasteful I would be happy to let her toss a couple of those off the stairs. It would probably be the most use we'll ever get out of it. Wait...I forgot, we're supposed to be flouncing too. Off we go to flounce, maybe while balancing Tiffany's china on our heads.

Wow. Scarlett is grabbing at everything on the table in front of her and trying to throw it on the floor, and she's only 5 months old. I can only imagine what a monster she's going to become once she actually knows how to use her hands!
