Get some cookbooks! Browse the Kitchen subforums for ideas and recipes! There is no reason you should be eating the same thing all the time. And welcome!

Welcome, Cara! I agree with aelle's suggestion of picking up some cookbooks. A great place to start right now is the free recipe database on this website! A lot of my meals come from here, and they are all winners. Here's the link: http://www.theppk.com/recipes/Don't be too hard on yourself. We're here to help!

Don't beat yourself up about a slip, it happens! Definitely look at getting some cookbooks and look at some blogs. Vegan blogs helped me a lot when I first went vegan, with getting ideas of what to cook.

Don't stress about falling off the wagon, just get back on. Learn vegan nutrition. You will feel healthier and that will motivate you to stick with it. There is a lot of BS out there about nutrition, some of it from vegans. Here is a link to a list of short, reliable pieces about vegan nutrition: http://beforewisdom.com/blog/vegan-diets/Get into recipes. If your food is tasty you will not want to go away http://beforewisdom.com/blog/vegan-recipe-sites/Plan your meals once a week, that will short circuit inconvenient, higher cost and boring eating.

That's unfortunate. I found the opposite when I went vegan. Instead of eating the same thing all the time (TV dinners, from-the-box chili, pasta) I started eating all sorts of new exciting things when I went vegan. I had never cooked an eggplant before. Had never heard of tempeh. Or quinoa. Or chard. As others said, check out cookbooks and food blogs. If you have a craving for something meaty, make the V'con chickpea cutlets (available on the PPK blog, too). Or try sloppy joes. Or BBQ tempeh or tofu.

Welcome, Cara - don't worry about the odd balls-up, it's the long term intention that counts! Looking forward to seeing more of you in the UK section, where we often rant about the correct pronunciation of scone and sing the virtues of the jammy piece!

Hello name twin!
I learned to cook when I went vegan. That made all the difference in the world.
A good place to start might be by making a vegan version of your favorite meal.
