after all the stress of last week i think my body pretty much fell apart and i have the flu/a bad cold/bronchitis/i dont know. i feel like complete shiitake.
i know robitussin and benedryl are on the safe list but my question is can we take them as normally directed? or do we need to be careful even with the safe list meds? can i take one of them every 4 hours like the box says?
im nervous to keep taking things but i cant even explain how shitty i feel.
last week during thanksgiving i was basically allergic to my in-laws house so i took benedryl 4x over several days. i stayed home today from work after really suffering the last two days. i took a benedryl around 7:30 this morning then went to bed until almost 3. when i got up i took some robitussin then. im just really nervous to take more meds even from the safe list but i feel like my face is exploding with coughing and mucus and snot and migraines. this whole pregnancy has been nothing but difficulty for me. i think the last time i had a day where i felt good was 5 months ago :-P

Take them as directed . Also, if you're really that sick, go to the doctor and make sure you don't have an bacterial infection that requires antibiotics!
I'm sorry you're having such a rough time!

Lisa, have you ever used a neti pot or sinus rinse thingy? Those work wonders for me, both for allergies and for cold sinus congestion.
Having said that, though, when I was pregnant with E I had a terrible sinus infection and had even more trouble sleeping than usual. My doctor gave me a prescription for a nasal spray that she said would be less likely to have side effects than a pill and I only had to use it for a couple of days.
Definitely call your doctor. I hope you feel better soon - it's hard enough being pregnant without extra physical stresses.

Inhaling steam also helps a lot when it comes to coughing and mucus in general. It is also a good method to get rid of a sinus infection. And lots of rest. I hope you get a break soon!

Feel better! Being sick while pregnant is no fun at all. (If it makes you feel better, I took plenty of cold medicine while pregnant and my baby turned out healthy)
