I remember! You still had some boxes at like, summertime, didn't you?

Maybe i'll keep them at a safehouse so I have to go out of my way to get them but I will still be able to have them in a few months when I crave one. This is assuming I'll get my butt to TJ's and they'll have them.

True.
Okay, based on your experience, I'll only get a few boxes to avoid the greed and disgust. I still want to like them next year!

As the Greed Expert, I'd recommend somewhere between 3 and 6 boxes.

Anything over 6 is setting yourself up for an overdose. I am not joking when I say that I feel green about the gills just thinking about them.

I have never liked Candy Cane Jo-jos. They taste like an Oreo Cookie had a three way with breathmint and gravel

Ok, I had a reason for looking in this thread. Wine. I'm in charge this year, so I need some nice white and red wine for Thanksgiving. One bottle of white will be for cooking, so just needs to be decent.

Suggestions I'm liking to find at TJ? I think my budget is around $30 for 3 bottles. Mom is buying everything else, so I can't be a total cheapskate here. We don't drink wine very often, so when we do, we want something lovely. Nothing sweet or fruity. The red is most important as that's what my parents will drink. I'll look for a Reisling for myself.

Went to our brand-spanking new TJs (8 mins from our door!!!!) and it was wonderful. I am still a bit married to my old store, so I was grousing about not knowing where stuff was, but it was nice and airy and I found everything including 2 turkeyless roasts. Excited to try them!

At this point our shops are so basics heavy: Ezekial bread, Almond milk, organic fresh produce (kale, carrots, celery, peppers and bananas), frozen organic broc and green beans, canned BPA free beans and organic tofu (sprouted and the firm) and then a few prepared meals for easy feedings.

LW you could try messaging kara kara - I think that is her area of expertise.

I made the turkeyless roast last night and liked it overall. I cooked it an extra 5 minutes per the suggestion here. I thought the stuffing was too mushy for my taste and the gravy was ok but not great. The part I was scared about was the turkey but I was pleasantly surprised. This was my first experience with a faux turkey roast.

I really like the Ferme Julien (it's really La Vielle Ferme, relabeled) red. I think it's a côtes du rhone. It's very agreeable to lots of tastes--not too strong, not too sweet. In general, this is a good label (I like their rosé too--haven't had the white), and I'm a wine snob who has lived in France. It's about $8/bottle.

My TJoes also does wine tastings, so I wonder if you can ask for tastings before purchasing?

I don't really know nice wines from crepe wines, but I just remembered--it's Beaujolais time!! They probably will have a Beaujolais Nouveau if your parents are in to that, LW. I usually stick to the truck wines because I know they're vegan and usually decent (white truck, red truck, green truck, I've liked all that I've had).

I asked at my store a couple weeks ago and they said that they were temporarily out of stock at the warehouse due to underestimating their popularity. I hadn't seen them at my store but I missed the week they had them. I'm not sure if that would be true for all stores or just the region I live in though.

Trader Joe's often have wine tastings, recommended wines (check out the signs) and employees walking around who can help. Their choices can be pretty versatile...I would personally stay away from a blend.

New things I've tried lately- the toasted coconut chips. Soooo good. They are crispy pieces of coconut meat with salt and sugar. Crazy good. I tried the canned cinnamon rolls and, meh. Not worth the calories to me. The smoked almonds are insane. Like bacon almonds!

yes! those coconut chips are outta this world. i added them to the just almonds, cashews, and cranberries (w/some chocolate) trail mix. yummo. and i agree with you about the cinnamon rolls, good enough and great that they are vegan but high in calories for not enough payoff tastewise. i still get them for the hubby and kids as i am too lazy to regularly make cinnamon rolls from scratch and they love them.

It is finally cooling down where I live, and I want to get some of the tea from Trader Joe's that everyone keeps talking about.

What are your favorite brands? (yes, I have been following this thread, but it is 80+ pages long.....)

Did anyone else pick up the giant box of chocolate covered cherry-liqeuer candies?!! I couldn't remember if I liked them or not, but on the off-chance I did, I grabbed a box. I don't love them, but I'm excited to share the other 28 candies at a party.

My husband brought home the turkey-like roast today and it is definitely not the same as the gardein roast. It has a different texture and different stuffing. I like the gardein roast better although I like tofurkey more than both of them.
