So I was at work today, stocking shelves, when a customer came up to me and asked if I liked the Indigo Girls. I said I didn't really know them and he walked away. Kind of surreal.

This is awesome.

Best thing? Me not exploding with laughter/ humiliation when at work. I found a bone in something I was slicing (the joys of working at a deli), set it aside to show the boss after. After I finished with my customer, I asked work crush- not thinking how it would sound until it came out- "Wanna bone?" It was after he turned beet red, smiled, and said, "What?!" that I realized he was gonna need some context.

Freudian slip? In any case, I played innocent and kept my (snort) dignity.

LOVE IT! Also, if I was said work crush, it would totally add major charm factor to you.

Oh I hope! I'm not one to throw around sexual innuendos at work but I just might start now.

I have my own office now!!!!! This is SO EXCITING. I hated being in a cubicle. My coworkers are great, but I was constantly distracted by them. Having a door is the best.

I have three weeks to do a semester's worth of work, since I spent most of the semester caring for a terminall ill aunt and dealing with my own mental health problems.

Surprisingly, I'm doing pretty well with it. I've gotten maybe 20% of my work done in the past four days? Granted I haven't been sleeping much, but meh. If I can power through this then by the 19th I'll be done with my BFA, so it's worth it.

I'm the opposite. I had an office for 6 years, I'm glad to be back in a cubicle.

I do worry I will miss the social aspect of working among other people. But I think I will be more productive now. Mostly I'm excited to be moving way down the hall from my boss.

I'm forcing myself to be social so I'm going to sleepover my friend's tonight. Now I'm excited to exchange gossip.

Okay, the sleepover didn't work out. So my best thing is my mom buying me a two pack of Nasoya tofu for 4 bucks! I'm excited because this is at BJ's which is where I'm hoping to get lots of other goodies in bulk soon.

Biker boy and I went back to the same alehouse where we had our first date. <3 This time, however, we did not sit there for almost 4 hours.

Yesterday's PPK meetup at the Vegan Patisserie in Rotterdam. Hiking in the woods with VegEric today. (Mad props to VegEric for lending me his motorcycle liners so I could dress up as a super hero as we tromped through the woods.)

I had thought biker boy was making a bullshiitake excuse not to see me today and I got all cranky about it. But he wasn't (you can't get tone from a text message, kids!) He came over with a nice bottle of cabernet and we made dinner and wrote out Christmas cards.

I'm listening to some songs my friend recorded with the help of our other friend and me on vocals and it's astounding to hear the two of us sing. We had been in a band in high school together, and even in three years, both of us have grown so much. And, we sound rad singing together. I miss singing in a rock band.

I have been working at my favorite music festival for the past four days. Two of those, I spent as a kitchen volunteer for the catering crew that does the cooking for all the artists, and runs a burger stand for the crowd. Last year, we had one venue with a vegan burger stand and a fully vegan backstage catering. This year, the entire festival had vegan catering. For the Netherlands, that is Pretty. forking. Amazing. - trust me on that one. Of course, we had the obligatory crummy meat eaters making "funny" jokes, but we made so many people so happy. One girl who was allergic to egg and thought she couldn't eat anything: you should have seen her face when I told her all the food was vegan.

Also, this festival marked my one year veganversary. Last year after spending four days as a kitchen volunteer, cooking vegan food in an awesome group of (mostly) vegan people whom I could spam to death with all silly questions about veganism, I decided to go vegan. And it was the best to celebrate my veganversary with the bunch of them. It was the best thing in the world to bond with other vegans who do catering/restaurant work in a country that is not super vegan-tolerant. And one of the vegan chefs complemented me so lengthily on my work ethic and passion in the kitchen that it made me blush - a much needed boost for my dream to own a vegan catering company of my own someday. :)

Having a vegan family around for four days, who are all as much into cooking, good music and beer as I am, was a real treat. Despite being tired as fork and all, this weekend will be a source of positive energy for the upcoming months. I am grateful and happy and tired and I loved it all.

That's awesome Paloma!

I'm having the awesomest day! My favourite band are coming to play at a tiny venue in my city and I managed to get an appointment with an amazing tattoo artist for the Brighton Tattoo Convention in February. Some crasshole on the train yesterday hurled a load of homophobic drunken abuse at my friend and I and I was wishing bad karma on him but apparently it's just given me a load of good karma instead!
