Yeah, I think hospital johnnies make everyone look sickly! They're not giving her anything for the nausea right now. They're trying to get her to eat a little, because that would help, but she feels too sick to eat. (Plus they were trying to get her to eat what she said were "the grossest graham crackers in the world". So my dad and I brought Ritz crackers and animal crackers and she said she'd try them later.)


She has her own laptop, but technically it belongs to her work, so she didn't want to bring it into the hospital. I'd give her my old one, but it is totally dead. (And since they charge for tv, I wouldn't be surprised if they charge for wifi too!) Her phone can do internet, so that's what she's been using to check fb and email. She's not really into movies. I was going to buy her a magazine to read, but the place we stopped at only had Maxim, Men's Health, Cooking Light, and Spanish-language People (almost bought that one before I noticed it wasn't in English!) and I didn't think she wanted to read any of those! So we just brought her the newspaper to look at. I think she mostly wants to sleep today, anyway. I'll go through my book and magazine stash and see if there's anything I can bring her for tomorrow.

Thanks, everyone. I keep having flashbacks to when Sable was in the hospital. I mean, I know it's different (my mom isn't a dog, for one!) but I still have that fear.

I went to the grocery store today that I normally don't go to and they had a lot more vegan options. There was a group of people who were talking about getting vegan this and vegan that and then were sampling cheese. I kept stalking the cheese because I was wondering if it was vegan but I didn't want to look too obvious. It was regular cheese though. Damnit people, stop confusing me.

They can also give her zofran which doesn't cause drowsiness. I prefer it actually and if she asks hardly any doctor will refuse anti nausea meds in the hospital. I hope your mom feels better soon!

I also can't believe the tv situation. Like the bill isn't huge already? Geez.

I have run 34.64 miles in the last week. I am tired.

Why do my friends have to have social lives? They should just sit at home all day in case I want to talk to them.

Yes, the ppk is always here! But I've already told you guys about my mom. I know I'll have anxiety attacks tonight from being alone in the house and worrying about my mom, so I'm trying to warn my friends that I may be texting them at 3 in the morning because I'm freaking out.

Strawberryrock, tell me more about making bitters! I've made liqueur before by steeping fruit in vodka and then straining and sweetening with sugar syrup. Is it a similar process?

My mom is now on her 5th antibiotic. I'm not sure if she meant 5 different ones, or 5 vials of the same one. Either way, I hope the 5th time is the charm! I hate sitting at home worrying about her. Not that I could do anything for her if I was at the hospital, but you know. I feel so helpless here.
