i feel for you, rc. my relatives are all in massachusetts, and when things go wrong i feel terrible for not going home, even though i couldn't do more for them there than i can do here. it's so hard to accept that something so important is so completely out of your control.

Some people I sort of know basically had their money stolen by this person who was supposed to build them this food cart. There was a local news segment about it. In this segment they discussed how they looked into whether this person had a criminal record, and explained that she did and was a sex offender and when these things happen she was legally a man. So this person posted being on the local news on her Facebook, and her friends posted supportive comments about how this person who screwed her over was a total crasshole, and it sounds like she was, but some of the comments were super offensive and anti-trans! Like this woman being trans has anything to do with her being a crasshole. I hate everyone.

I'm thinking my knuckle tats are going to say 'SLUT LYFE' or something.

I go out dancing alone ONE TIME, and I come home with someone's number on a napkin. I'm the hugest tease and I can't help myself!

OMG. I made the best pumpkin cutlets of my life, with a side of smashed potatoes. They were so awesome I didn't even take a picture (even though they looked delicious too). Just snarfed them all up.

(Info for the curious: Salt and pepper on both sides, then generously spooned olive oil & spice mix over them: I used lots of fresh garlic, chilli, nutmeg, cinnamon and some powdered ginger I found on the top shelf. Spread all over cutlets, sprinkle some thyme, then broil. Awe. Some.)

I bought a different style of "Beyond Meat" yesterday and I am seriously doubting that it isn't chicken. It is freaky.

Her arm is still very swollen. I was so hoping it would be better by morning. So worried. I talked to her this morning and she hasn't seen her doctor yet today. Waiting on blood tests.

that really sucks! it sucks that the news had to be such crassholes and make you and others sympathize with someone who ripped people off.

i hate when stuff like this happens. it kind of reminds me of how on the daily show, anytime jon stewart wants to make fun of something chris christie did, it always turns into a fat joke.

I just turned a 99c ramen package into the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. (Ramen + boiling water + cut in half cherry tomatoes + some Thai True curry paste + some sriracha + shoyu + half a lemon squeezed in)

I just went outside to stop Tegan from barking at the guy next door. The guy said "That's a new dog, isn't it?" and he asked what happened to Sable, and I told him she died. And then he kept asking all these questions, like "Did she die or did you put her to sleep? Was it sudden? So it was unexpected? I was wondering if it had been unexpected," and I just had this perverse urge to say, "Actually, we had been plotting to kill her for years." Which is terrible, but he asked if it was unexpected like 5 times and it was kind of weird.

Is this the stuff you were talking about when we were at Sticky Fingers?

I think I've finally reached my junk food saturation point. I've been feeling nauseous for a few hours and have only been able to eat noochy toast for dinner. :( And because I didn't make dinner, I don't have anything for my lunch tomorrow. Ugh. I don't want to have to get up early to either make what I was gonna make or go to the store for canned soup.

I just turned unwanted hot cocoa into pudding. Come at me, bros.

With my new favorite thing, cornstarch! How did I do things before I used cornstarch? I dumped in two tablespoons and called it a night.

My shirt was on backwards all day and I didn't notice! Now I feel silly.

Also, I found Vitasoy Holly Nog today! I had already seen/purchased the chocolate peppermint, but I thought I was going to be nogless. Woo!

That must be incredibly frustrating. I worry that I might unconsciously make the same mistake though. I need to stop making assumptions like that.

It wasn't frustrating, so much as it was a reminder of what people assume about race. My husband and I literally have to be kissing for people to realize we're together!
