OK Noho-ites... what are your favorite places to eat and/or get takeout and treats? I'm visiting soon. I've been there before so I know there are lots of options, but I'm wondering if there are any super-awesome places that are more awesome than most. The last time I was there was about a year ago so maybe there's also some awesome new shiitake? Tell me your secrets!

While I moved away two years ago and only pop in for short viists, I cannot speak highly enough of:
Amanouz Cafe. I actively crave their hummus and falafel on a weekly basis.
Osaka. Their miso eggplant (Nasu Shigi) is the paragon of delicious.
Woodstar Cafe's granola and breads.
Northampton Coffee's soy latte.
Herrell's no-moo ice cream.
The Haymarket, for almost any meal, given you can embrace its casual environment.
The Roost and Sip for light lunches/evening snacks, with some vegan baked goods.
The Green Bean for brunch.
Heavenly Chocolate, Cornucopia, and River Valley Market for treats.
The Dirty Truth for beer.

Bela and Paul & Elizabeth's are the vegetarian strongholds, but I feel they're over rated.

If you can make it to Florence, you must go to Cafe Evolution. If you can make it to Montague, a fancy meal at the Montague Night Kitchen makes a lovely lovely treat. In between Northampton and Amherst, Esselon Cafe has a delicious tofu scramble and vegan brunch options. In Amherst, the Lone Wolf is your best brunch bet in the area. Bread Euphoria in Haydenville is best in the are for breads, but there is always The Hungry Ghost in Northampton if you can't make it there.

Great list, thanks! I've eaten at a couple of those places but not all. Will definitely check some of them out this time.

I adore your cupcakes!

Also, may I suggest Bueno Y Sano's seitan burritos?

I just discovered a vegan BLT at Greenbean. And the Haymarket had Cherry-Bourbon Cheesecake the other week.

I am so friggin' happy I moved here.

Haymarket has seriously stepped up their vegan desserts last time I visited!

I just moved to Noho with my partner in October, and we have been LOVING the selection of foods. Amanous (spelling?) is our stronghold, their lentils are amazing. Also, if you have people with you that are pickier, Local Burger has a pretty kick-ass veggie burger, as does Jake's. There really isn't any place that is going to be hard to find an option. I, personally, don't like the Haymarket as much as everyone else does...the Roost has far better coffee and food. They have Earth Balance for bagels and some pretty amazing vegan cookies. Cornucopia is so, so, so overpriced, I hardly shop there if I can avoid it. Heavenly Chocolates, though, are incredible.

I try to support the smaller businesses in town, but what bothers me more than the prices at Cornucopia is the customer service. I don't care for the way people seem to follow or herd you around the store, and there is one particularly rude cashier. It especially makes me uncomfortable when I'm still dealing with the mental remnants of an eating disorder and grocery shopping still takes me a long time. They make me so self-concious, I'm really considering just doing all of my natural foods shopping at Whole Foods.

I love Bela the mostest. We ate there last night, and it was amazing. Also love-Haymarket (great vegan pastries), Roost (tempeh wings with vegan sauce if you ask for it), Sierra Grill for tempeh with onion sauce, Osaka, Hungry Ghost (vegan pizza). Someone above mentioned Local Burger-I'm pretty sure their veggie burger is not vegan. Also, Evolution in Florence has some amazing specials.

I'm still craving a monstrous burrito from Bueno Y Sano. Once I can get my chew on I'm having my sister bring me.

And then I will visit every place wigglesmom listed, because omg it all sounds amazing.

Last time I visited, Local Burger definitely used egg in their burgers, and so did Jake's.

I forgot to add:
Gohyang Korean Restaurant on rt. 9 (and their karaoke, and grocery store).
Also on rt. 9, Banh Mi Saigon for true vegetarian Pho and Banh Mi.
SooRa for tofu kimchi stew on snow days and a dedicated veg menu.
The Foundary's soy pumpkin latte made with the real deal- pumpkin butter.
Hinge for bloody-mary-saketinis and yucca fries.
Popcorn Noir in Easthampton. Tofu scramble for brunch, sweet potato tots, and a pickles-from-around-the-world plate. And awesome cocktails. Obviously, I'm in love.

I visited Northampton last May & loved it! We were there for less than a day but we squeezed in cake at Green Bean, ice cream at Herrell's, amazing chocolates from Sweeties & sandwiches & root beers at Cafe Evolution.

I blogged about it here.

OMG were you the lovely PPKer working there one day last May? We were the British couple who were a bit overexcited about your awesome sandwiches!! I've been trying to work out your username for ages!

Ahh, sorry to bust, but Local Burger's veggie burger isn't vegan! That said, their portobello burger (sans bun) is surprisingly hearty with a side of fries. It's my personal go-to whilst bar hopping :)

I go to Northampton three or four times a year and always eat at Paul and Elizabeth's. I think their prices are right and their food is good. The atmosphere at Paul and Elizabeth's is nice, too. Still, thanks to this thread and the great suggestions posted here, I think I am going to branch out and start trying new places!

Easthampton has a new juice bar, Christine's Bean Sprout. It's pretty cute, vegetarian, and has homemade vegan burgers and macaroni n' cheeze. I've only had a smoothie thus far, but it is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
