I thought the guy who gave Rick shelter in season 1 was much older...

I thought like that when I was a boy and it was the 70s. Yet, when I went to school in a metropolitan area in the 90s an uber feminine friend of mine told me that many people thought she was gay just because she had sort hair. Same thing happened to me when I grew my hair out to my shoulders. It still amazes me that there are adults who thing hair length is an indicator of sexual orientation. Interesting, that prisoner had fair long hair.

New guy not the same as season 1 man with son and walker wife. I keep wishing he'd show up again, Lenny James is such a good actor. Then again I still miss his old show Jericho.

And yeah, I didn't even think that the new kid is closer to Beth's age and therefore a rival for Carl. Teen love triangle/angst here we come!

I thought the teenage guy in the new group of survivors looked a lot like Randall, the gang member Shane killed in season 2. It was confusing for a bit.

Is it sad that I'm still waiting for it to come back?

Another thing I liked about the midseason finale:

The subtle implied criticism of the use of the word "terrorist" as a dangling shiny object used to manipulate people.

In season 1 I found the gang in the enclave in the Atlanta hospital to be a very interesting twist. Most horror stories focus around middle class Caucasian Americans. I hope the producers bring in more characters from different economic and ethnic backgrounds, though they still seem to be stuck in a mode of having only one man of color alive at a time.

I loved him in The Wire. Glad to see there's a new group. I was getting a little fed up with the characters. I also love how Carl ran things. Shooting zombies, locking them up, etc.

I repeat: Darrel must not die.

If Darrel dies I'm boycotting the series. I really hope Andrea dies.

It's ridiculous! Every time they introduce a new black guy, you know the other character is one episode away from being killed off.

Andrea can live, but only if she calls the gov on his bullshiitake in front of everyone and then kills him to save Darryl. Accidentally killing Merle in the process may be okay since there is no way he could ever go along and live with the key group of characters. I'm also really over Rick being mean to Michone. Geez, chick brought your baby formula, found your people and helped you save them. What more do you want Sheriff?

I wanted to see that little girl gnaw someone's face off, dammit. Either Andrea or Daddy. Merle needs to sacrifice himself to save Daryl.

Does anyone think the Dr/Scientist guy is going to turn on the Gov? They showed him off to the side in the last scene just looking at him.

Yeah, I won't say anything, but I know what you mean. I was glad to see it too, but I was surprised they gave so much away in the preview.



I like the idea of Merle sacrificing himself to save Daryl. It would be an interesting way for the story to go. I'd also like to see Milton switch alliances. Such an interesting character. Completely unequipped for survival in the zombie apocalypse. He's almost the anti-Michonne.

Sometimes previews lie. I REMEMBER THEY USED TO DO THAT shiitake WITH POWER RANGERS.

I'm not casting any votes for Milton until we know what's in the tea.

Some people hoard ammo and medicine, maybe TP or jerkey, for the end of the world, Milton chose tea.

I don't think there would be a need to hoard tea ( except good tea ). Nobody, at least in the US, is going to grab tea off the store shelves as they get weapons and gas to flee in terror

Well, it does seem to be special. Maybe it's something extra he does to it. Like play it music and a Tibetan singing bowl to relax the tannins.

Or tea made with water that at some point touched walker blood, homeopathic style.

That would be good as the music and meditation bells don't seem to be preventing people from becoming walkers. At least he is making the tea more tasty.

Given the hokey experiment with the man who died from cancer, my guess is that the tea doesn't do anything positive. It is probably something like a first stage poison that will kill who ever drinks the second stage, something ordinary, so The Governor can do a Jim Jones Koolaide maneuver.
