I had it in a green chili sauce. Shared it with my boyfriend and he went a lil crazy for it. Really good stuff! I have only had a few Gardein products - the fresh burgers being a hit with the boyfriend, I think they are OK. I am allergic to most of the other stuff. He digs the crispy tenders and I make them for him on the weekend for lunch. For meat subs I like Field Roast & Tofurky...For all around good replacement for the stuff I like eating (comfort food) it is Soy Curls.

I think I remember that if you vote for the awards, you get entered into a drawing but only if you complete a certain percentage of the categories. That could be a reason why the most prevelent, nation-wide products always win. Because those the only brands that people recognize, and they want to get in the drawing.
I know that when I first went vegan, and had not discoved PPK or other vegan forums yet, I had no idea what 80% of the companies/products were.

Perhaps if they had a category for best new product, or even best local products, local bakery, etc. it would solve the problem of only the national brands winning. I remember a few years ago Loving Hut was listed with all the other restaurants, which was unfair since it's a chain, and they've since changed the restaurant categories.
But again, so long as I keep winning Cookbook Author it's all a-ok.

One of my friends beat out our local weatherman for 'Best Personality' in this year's Best of Springfield, because he runs a movie review site and thousands of his fans (obviously not local) voted him in. I was really upset because I wanted Mullet Guy of Lawrence Avenue to win.

im one of the people who definitely votes for what they've heard of since i dont have a lot of these fancy pants vegan products and stores out here in the burbs.
