everyone should totally ask out their crushes! i started asking people out a couple of years ago and yeah, sometimes i get nervous about it beforehand, but i find it kind of exhilarating. sure, people don't always return my interest, or sometimes i know that they also have a crush on me but don't want to date me for some other reason, and that's ok. nobody has ever been offended by my interest- i think people are generally flattered to know that someone is attracted to them, and as long as you present your interest as fairly casual (like "hey! i like you and would enjoy spending more time with you. no pressure though, if you don't want to, that's fine") and not obsessive, then i don't see how it could be problematic. if you find out they're not interested, it's way easier to move on to the next cute person. and if they are interested, then you get to go on a fun date. win-win.

Alright. I'm not asking my crush to hang out with my friend and I tomorrow. On Thursday, when we work together (we close by ourselves), I am mentioning I'm going to a movie, maybe Sunday, and would he like to come along? Because fork it, I'm an adult, never asked anyone out, and here I am all set to do it with my friend holding my hand. No more! Whatever happens will happen and I think I should do it myself.

So may guys I crush on/have relationships with end up having J names. So many to the point that I kind of hate that the two that don't are even in my crush list. I think it'd be funny to keep going with the all J thing.

Not going to happen though, those two are super hot.

So I haven't really talked to the archaeologist since Thanksgiving, and I'm trying to decide if I should ask if he wants to go out again. I'm just way more socially awkward and overly analytical than I care to admit. So, instead, I'm trying to divert my attention to another guy. He's a regular at my work and we got matched up on a dating site by coincidence. He's this tall, bearded, feminist hottie who has a thing for bird watching. But he does environmental consulting so he's always driving around California at weird asparagus hours.

This is definitely the winter of me being attracted to guys with completely opposite schedules from mine. Boo.

I bought some horseradish pickles at the deli today (they smell so forking good) and work crush got them for me. I noticed that even when the other guy is working at the counter, and even if work crush is busy doing something else, he always comes over to get me whatever I'm ordering. Tomorrow is "the day" but I was as sweet as I could be ordering pickles and flirted a teensy bit.

The crazy part? Before, I was feeling pretty scared about asking him out tomorrow, kinda like I was walking toward my death or something. Now,I'm not worried at all; I'm thinking, why be scared? I'm forking adorable. I like him and I think he likes me, and even if I'm wrong, I have to do this. I think it'll be good for me no matter what he says.

GCZ, regardless of what he says, you're going to be way more bad-ass and awesome for doing it! (But, self-confidence is hot and I'm sure you are right about being forking adorable so he's bound to say yes, or be majorly missing out!) I'm excited about people asking people on dates!
