Post Punk Kitchen Forum

I got to sleep a little bit later than usual and start work a little later than usual for a Saturday, and I also got done early. And my spouse made yummy noodles with tofu, mushrooms, and eggplant for dinner. Oh, and I made gingerbread cookie dough. To be cut out and cooked tomorrow or the day after. But I ate a lot of cookie dough today!

I retract my best thing, even though this really is good coffee. Just talked to my crush on the phone and now I can't stop smiling.

I don't dislike boys, though it is a much easier sell when they identify as queer, or have an awesome understanding of feminism and queer politics, or are Adam Scott.

Sucks to be me I guess. I was beyond ignorant about feminism for the longest time and have only just begun educating myself. And I have no idea who Adam Scott is! :)

I'm really, really sorry if I creeped anyone out. People of both sexes have hit on me in the photo thread and I just thought it was part of the jocular atmosphere here. Seriously though, I'm super sorry if I made strawberryrock or anyone else uncomfortable. I won't do it again.

Okay, well you repeatedly do this thing where you say something weird or problematic, grovel and self-flagellate when you get called on it, and then go immediately back to doing the same thing. There's an obvious difference between saying "hey, you look really pretty in that picture" and telling someone you wish they weren't a lesbian, especially after the inappropriate things you've already said to/about women in this forum.

All I can say is that I'm sorry. I probably need to take a break from this forum.

Not to cause excessive conflict or anything, but I'm definitely not a lesbian and don't particularly enjoy it when people make assumptions about my identify like that. No hard feelings but it happens a lot and I'm not a huge fan.

Why is there arguing in the best things thread? We have threads for that. Sort of.

I played a great show tonight with great old and new friends. We *might* be going to Cologne partially as a result of it (hope so!).

The second best thing about my day was having a mini dance party to Deceptacon at a brunch party after six champagne-based cocktails.

Sorry! I could've sworn I remembered you identifying yourself as such in another thread, but obviously I was mistaken. I didn't mean to assume.

I don't really want to drag this out in this thread, but I think the key is, to judge each situation individually and also remember that this is a community of people who talk to each other everyday and who know each other online and/or in person to varying degrees. So, if you see someone hitting on someone else, that might be because they know each other in person or have developed a rapport that includes those kinds of comments. If you don't feel like you know the person or situation that well, maybe don't make a comment that might make someone uncomfortable. I don't know exactly how to explain this...and i don't want it to feel like an exclusive club, but if you're new here, maybe just be a little cautious until you feel like you know the situation pretty well.

I hope that makes sense. And when in doubt, we can all always talk about food! that's unlikely to be controversial unless you love Daiya or pronounce it DAY-UH.
